SOLVED. Family that moves to an old house that is supposedly haunted and the main characters find a secret hallway with rooms with props and if you have a prop you can open the door [s]

This book was for teenager-ish ages. The mom, dad, two brothers, and little sister move to this house. In the beginning of the book there is a flashback of sorts from the family that lived there before. A giant figure came and took the mom and her son tried to get her but the figure pushed him down. The new family moves in and the sound is weird in the house so it sounds like it's coming from one room but it's really not. One of the first nights there, the figure comes but the brothers and dad fight him off. The brothers find a clearing in the forest around the house where there is less gravity. They also find a passage/teleport thing to the school (a locker) where the dad works. The brothers find a hidden hallway with rooms like a hotel and in each room is different props, like theater props. There's also what seems to be a closet. If you have one of the props, you can open the door and it will lead to the place where the prop fits. There was one with a Roman fight to the death where the boy almost dies, and one where one of the brothers is in the jungle and is chased by natives and a lion. I THINK if they die there they just go back to the real world, but I'm not sure. There is a sequel. Please help if you can!
