Hi! I have always enjoyed the darker nature of horror media, having read, played, and watched tons of scary thrills. I am an author and although I haven't published a horror story yet, one I have published does have some pretty dark themes. I particularly love survival horror video games and feel that they can have a unique influence over horror fiction. One of my favorite books growing up was Pet Sematary. :)
Hi, A.W. Nice to meet you. Just read Pet Sematary last year--brilliant stuff. The chapter where Louis teaches Gage how to fly a kite is beautiful and hits hard, since you know what comes after. One of my favorite King scenes.
Warm greetings to everyone, I would like to offer free e-copies of my creepy, supernatural ghost thriller "Evelina - Love you to Death"
Please have a look at the preview and message me if you would like a copy:
Love you to Death
Kind regards to you all, Tim
My name is Tisha and I'm a 43 year old housewife. Overall, I enjoy a large variety of genres, but my favorites are: cozy mysteries, paranormal and dark romance, horror, erotica, manga and graphic novels.I also enjoy watching anime, mystery dramas, medical dramas, Asian dramas, British dramas and comedies and all kinds of movies...most especially horror...I tend to watch any ghost/haunting horrors I can get my hands on! I also enjoy computer and console gaming. My husband and I are both addicted to watching other gamers on YouTube and Twitch!!
My hobbies other than reading include: on-line surfing, hanging with friends, visiting the beach, and being with my family. I am an animal lover, currently I have a Pomeranian (Remy) and a chihuahua (Milo).
I am always looking for friends and reading recommendations, so feel free to friend me, and it's great to meet you! :)
Hi Russell, AW, Tim, and Tisha. Russell, that is an excellent memory. I have a memory like that for my first adult book, but not for my first horror as I was young in the era of Goosebumps and Point Horror so had lots to choose from that were considered age-appropriate.
Best of luck with your writing, AW and Tim.
Tisha, I'm sure you'll find way too many recommendations here. Even when I was just friends with Charlene I was adding at least one book a week to my wishlist haha. I'm a big sucker for ghost and haunting things too; I even watch supposed real life haunting programmes for the entertainment value (except Most Haunted, I don't care for that).
Hi. I'm Tonya. I'm an eclectic reader and movie/tv watcher. I enjoy all kinds of books, even some romance; as long as there is a mystery, death or a paranormal involved. I'm currently reading Anatomy of Evil, the last move I watched was Taken 3 and the last tv show I binged watched was Black Books, some kind of UK series. This looks like an interesting group. Hope to find more authors to add to my TBR shelve.
My life is a horror movie that just doesn't stop. I used to live in the infamous hotel Cecil (where Richard Ramirez and Jack Unterweger stayed) and the experience convinced me to move to another continent. I ended up working as a security guard in the housing projects around Paris. I've made a feature length trash gore satire of reality TV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ea8Ap...and just finished a book about a cannibalistic cult of celebrity stalkers going berserk in Hollywood.
Hello everyone,I'm a newly hatched horror writer, searching for (fresh victims) readers.
I hope to make some new friends and find some good books as well.
Hi everyone. I'm an avid horror fan who was weaned on horror movies and started on Poe at 7. There is literally no horror genre I don't like, from gothics to splatterpunk, bizarro to ghost stories. I don't, however, like everything _in_ them. I've read so many books I'm not even sure where to start filling out my bookshelf.
I'm happy to meet you!

Hello Everyone,My name is Jessica and I'm from Indiana but currently stationed in Afghanistan with my National Guard unit. I love reading horror and disturbing books. They don't have to be bloody and gory, I really like disturbing books that you didn't see the ending coming. Some authors that I like are of course Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Bentley Little, Joe Hill and some Mary Higgins Clark and Jack Ketchum. I also like Kealan Patrick Burke, I read "Kin" and it was a great read. I just finished "Penpal" by Dathan Auerbach and "Hell House" by Richard Matheson. Both were really good reads. Currently I am reading Pet Semetary by Stephen King. When I finish it I'm planning on reading "Red" by Jack Ketchum or "Cujo" by SK. I really look forward to seeing what everyone else recommends.

Hello, welcome to HA and thank you for your service, Jessica!
Thank you everyone for making me feel welcomed! I'm on the downhill slope of my deployment and will be back home to my husband, greyhound and two cats before Spring comes. I'm just devouring books until then!

Hi guys, 31 year reader/writer artist from North Wales, UK here. Hope you are all well and ready for a spooky Christmas wrapped up with a good book. Adam.
Hello everyone, my name is Alex. I have had a love for horror movies since elementary school, but haven't read much in the way of horror books. I do love murder mysteries/thrillers/and true crime though, plus I am trying to branch out a bit in 2016, so I figured I would give horror a shot.
Hi guys! I'm Croatian horror writer, love everything horror, specially old horror movies. Best childhood memory: black and white vampire movies Friday nights.

Welcome back to Horror, Richard. (Welcome home?) And welcome to HA!
hi Horror buffs. I like to read horror, but Im not scared that easily, at least not as a jaded adult. Ive read a lot of King of course. Dabbled in Barker. But Im looking for something that will give me some memorable creeps!Always looking for a good creepy read.!!!
Hi! I'm Kyle. I fell in love with horror from the moment I opened my first "Goosebumps" book as a child. (I had almost the entire collection, until my mom donated them all to the local library because she said they made me too violent.)
But I was hooked. I love reading horror, although I often have a hard time finding solid new titles. The Passage by Justin Cronin remains one of my favorite novels of all time.
