Hi everyone! My name is A.K. and I am a horror author and blogger. I love anything horror, and am excited to discover some new, scary books!
Hey Gang, I'm an author of horror with 3 self-published books. I've been writing for over 30 years, since I was a teenager. I write mostly short fiction, 2 of my books are story collections, but have been working on longer pieces. I'm also a screenwriter and filmmaker and my 3rd book is a novella adapted from one of my screenplays. I usually have 2 to 4 books in the works at the same time. Though I write mostly horror, I am currently writing an action/adventure novella, an action/adventure series, and pulp fiction-style hired gun series.My writing style is quick and, at times, choppy depending on the action and flow of a scene. I don't waste time with long, descriptive passages or lots of backstory, I prefer to let my readers' imaginations fill in those blanks.
My greatest joy about being a self-published author is when I go to signings and events where I get the opportunity to share my experience with other aspiring authors who throw every excuse at me about why they haven't written their own book, yet. I am proud to say that I have successfully motivated 2 authors to publish their own books.
My favorite horror story: Henry Kuttner's "The Graveyard Rats"

Fun Fact: "Clive Carpenter" is my pen name and is a mash-up of 2 of the greatest creators of horror ever. When I published my first book in 2014, I did so under my own name and didn't sell one copy (I think my own name is more suited for romance or something). So, I pulled the book from the Kindle shelves and when I republished it in 2015 with the pen name, readers identified the name with horror and my book began to sell.
Hi all! I've been on Goodreads for a bit but have never joined in on group reads or discussions.....until now that is. I'm from Alabama and have been an avid fan of horror since childhood. I pretty much love all horror, ghost stories, demons, zombies, thrillers, shock and gore, your basic monster /creature type horror, etc.......anything supernatural /paranormal or anything that goes bump in the night. I also enjoy apocalyptic end of the world storylines.
