I'm Paul - a lifelong horror fan. I am already in another group (Dragons and Jetpacks), but they never touch horror, so I figured I would give this a whirl. I love all things horror - from the Belko Experiment to the Shining and from the Books of Blood to the Exorcist.
Favorite scary game = Until Dawn.
The movie really can be better than the book = I Am Legend.
What scares me = heights! and maybe all that demon stuff.
And yet pathetically = I love Clash of Clans
Oh, I am 45, married, kids, love long walks on the beach, and have a horrible sense of humor.
Looking forward to it!
Hi! I'm Kimberly. I've always really enjoyed horror, but haven't been reading much lately because of falling down a rabbit hole into the nonfiction genre. I've really missed reading, hearing, watching, and talking about horror because, honestly, it's fun.
A rundown of my horror obsession:
-My ultimate favorite horror topic is ghosts.
-My next favorite topic is zombies.
-I think the best stories keep the origin of entities that haunt us unknown--after their history is told, it's not as scary because their story is usually lame.
-In English class, as a child, when we were told to write a story, I always chose to write a horror story and the ending was always of the main character waking up and the whole thing was a dream (lol, why? I don't know).
-The first movie I remember disturbing me the most was The Exorsist (1973).
-Latest horror movie watched: IT (2017)
Welcome to HA, Paul and Kimberly!
@Kimberly: Have you read Michael McDowell's
The Elementals yet? This one fits it great with the kind of stories you like. (It's also one of my personal favorites, for just those reasons!)

Hey everyone! I am new to the group so I just wanted to say hi. I have been obsessed with horror for such a long time now. My mom actually got me started on it when I was 11 years old when she had me read Cycle of the Werewolf by Stephen King. Then I immediately read Pet Semetary and I have been hooked on horror ever since. Also I don't feel weird saying this in a horror group but I love to read horror in bed before I fall asleep. There is something I just find comforting about it. Anyway, I am going to keep this short. So basically hello to all my fellow horror fanatics and I look forward to being a part of the group.
Hi. I'm Irf and it's a pleasure to be part of this group. I love the horror genre, I always have. I love Gothic literature and horror books set in mid to late 20th century. Most of my favorite horror films are from the 80's and earlier. I usually like older films in the genre or period horror films as I love all kinds of historical fiction.
Hi guys. This is my first time on Goodreads and I'm still finding my feet, so be gentle ;)I write under the name of CJ Rutherford, and up until recently, I've written primarily SFF books.
That changed when I was invited to submit a short story to a Halloween anthology back in 2015. I ended up being contacted by a few people who loved the short and wanted more, so a few months back I decided to rewrite it into a novella.
Well, one thing led to another, and Treaters is now a full length book one of a new horror series. Who'd have guessed that, eh?
Anyway, I hope to be pretty active on here, so thought I'd just say 'hi.'
Good evening ladies and gents, my name is Lee and I've been sober for...wait, sorry wrong group! Start again, my name is Lee and I'm a relatively new author of, apparently, 'chillingly realistic' dark thrillers and serial killer books. I've been a martial artist, fighter, soldier and police officer and, where possible, I use my own, personal experiences as inspiration for my work. Hopefully, this gives my work a certain element of realism that's often missing. Word of warning (that's probably not needed in this group), it would appear from the feedback I've received that my books are quite graphic! ha ha Looking forward to being an active member of the group.
Thanks
Lee
thank you so much! sorry I didn't respond right away I just got home my mom was picking up two kittens.
