Welcome, Rouxmia. I think you will find Laymon to be a lot of fun and a nice change of pace from Ketchum.
Hey all new friends, You can call me Geo for short.... easier to type :) I'm a Horror book fan. Grew up on Stephen King, love horror movies too. There don't make scary movies like they used to. Looking for new horror authors and books. Not into vampires or zombies.Looking forward to the group!

Hello everyone!!!I'm Effie from Greece and horror is one of my most favourite genres. I'm travelling to Edinburgh in a few weeks, not for the first time, but this time I decided I'd like to read a book taking place in Edinburgh while visiting it. I was hoping for some horror, but couldn't find anything interesting. I saw a lot of recomendations about Ian Rankin's books tho, which seemed quite interesting. Any suggestions?
HELL-o!! I am a horror fan, obviously. I wanted to join a group specific to the genre so I can discover more books to add to my ever growing TBR shelf. I'd love to join in on any book club reads and discussions.
Thanks for having me!
Hi! I've somewhat recently becoming absorbed into horror. Literary wise, not so much films. Unless it's a film based on a book. Even then, I prefer books.
I think it stems back to my Father telling me The Tell Tale Heart as a bedtime story.
I've been creeping my way through Stephen King, Anne Rice, Clive Barker, Lovecraft, etc. recently. "Big name" authors I guess, and I'm looking to branch out. I prefer supernatural horror, as opposed to horror based on regular humans.
So send me recommendations about ghastly ghouls and vicious vampires. <3
Georgette wrote: "The(y) don't make scary movies like they used to."Hollywood certainly doesn't. They can only make action movies with monsters. But there's been some terrifying films out of Asia the last two decades. And check out some of the short experimental pieces on YouTube.
Effie wrote: "I'd like to read a book taking place in Edinburgh while visiting it."Edinburgh's most famous real life horror is the story of Burke and Hare, so you might want to read Robert Louis Stevenson's The Body Snatcher.
For a non-horror, historical tale I'd highly recommend The Flowers of the Forest by Elizabeth Byrd
Hello and welcome, Cat and Enrique!Cat-my favorite vampire stories of the last few months are:
The Lesser Dead and The Suicide Motor Club.
Thanks everyone for the welcoming!! And thanks Perry for the recommendations. The Body Snatcher looks very interesting!
I'm new to the website and Idk if anyone cares who I am. Usually people don't. I am trying to read more because currently I'm not allowed to go to school (medical reasons). So this gives me free time. I'm 19, and my major in school is Theatre. (Hopefully musical theatre if I can get into the program).
I don't normally read Horror. I love watching it, however I rarely get scared. So I was hoping that adding more horror to my bookcase will give me that missing feeling.
I want to start a collection of horror figurines, but I can't because of my niece and nephew. I don't want to be yelled at for having that 'laying' around. I'm sure some of you know the feeling.
I don't have a favorite horror movie because that's like picking a favorite child. I love so many that I cannot choose. (However my fav all time movie is the princess bride.)
So thanks for reading if you did. Lol.
Hi Charolette and welcome to the group. We have all kinds of group reads and buddy reads going on so hopefully you can find something you'll like.
Welcome, Bella! I'm sure you'll find more recommendations than you'll ever be able to read, here!! :)
