Hi B'Neikia! welcome to the group. Bird Box was a good one! There's a buddy listen or read right now for Final Girls if you want to join in.

I loved House of Leaves! A truly unique story and format. Ignore bad reviews by people who can't appreciate its complexity and beauty. I will defend that book to the end.
Hello, everyone,My name is Graeme (pronounced Graham, like the cracker) and I grew up on old-school horror like M. R. James, Bram Stoker, J. Sheridan le Fanu along with Hammer and Universal movies. I also love old-school horror nonfiction like Augustin Calmet and Montague Summers.
I still love reading that brand of horror, and most of all I love making unexpected discoveries: did you know, for example, that Louisa May Alcott wrote a mummy story? I love rediscovering forgotten authors like Violet Paget (a.k.a. Vernon Lee) and Isak Dinesen (a.k.a. Karen "Out of Africa" Blixen).
I've made a career out of writing for tabletop and video games, which has put my horror and myth/folklore knowledge to good use. I've published a few non-game books, and in October I have an anthology coming out of stories from the 1930s and earlier, all set in Colonial times. It seems to me that the dark woods, paranoid towns, and stifling religion of the Thirteen Colonies are the native soil of the American Gothic just as crumbling castles and ruined abbeys are for European Gothic stories.
If you are interested in my books, I have a list on my blog with links to various sellers (https://graemedavis.wordpress.com/my-...). I also have a Goodreads author page and I welcome all connections.
Most of all, though, I'm looking forward to discussing horror old and new with the members of this group. Thanks for reading!
Welcome Graeme! I love those authors--all the ones I sought out growing up. Be sure to look up our author promotional thread so that you can list your upcoming anthology--it sounds like something I'd check out. :)
Hello hello! My name is Eva, 30 years and I live in the Netherlands.
I have been needing to read more horrorbooks, but I never really know the good ones. I like watching horrormovies sometimes (between my fingers), but nothing with blood flying around.
I appreciate movies like The Woman in Black, that vibe and scaryness.
But, I'd rather read books and pee in bed because I am to scared to leave my room. You know the feeling i'm sure.
Open to friendship on GR and awesome recs!
Hi my name is Bobbie and I love reading. I pretty much read anything. I'm always looking for great recommendations. I'm getting more into the horror genre so decided to join this group to get some ideas on what to read next.

Hi everyone! I'm Nix. I'm from Pittsburgh. I read a lot of non-fiction on cemeteries, death, etc and I love some good ghostly fiction or short stories. Anything paranormal or unexplainable is usually my go to. I also sew plush zombies I call Zomb-mes and watch a ton of horror.
Hello and welcome to HA, everyone!BTW, we recently passed the 13,000 member mark! Which is because HA RULES!
Hi! How's it going? I joined Goodreads just yesterday. I'm a New Adult Horror/Thriller Short Story writer, blogger, and website owner.
Normally, I blog on my website, It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns at least 2-3 days a week posting Song Saturday and Cartoon Sunday blogs. I highly encourage adults 18 years old and older to visit and take a tour around! :D

Hi all! I'm new to the site. I joined this group with the hope of getting some recommendations and also to connect with others that adore this genre as much as I do.
Thank you, Kimberly and Bill! :D
Hey Horror Aficionados! I just joined GoodReads, and being a horror fanatic, this was clearly going to be my first stop. I'm a writer (just released my first book), but I've written many horror movies (including Jigsaw, the new film in the Saw franchise), as well as some decidedly lighter horror films like Piranha 3D and Sorority Row. I'm looking forward to getting some recommendations from you all while also taking up fisticuffs with anyone who doesn't admit that Clive Barker is the greatest horror writer of all time. :-) Cheers.

My name is B'Neikia, I actually joined this group a while back but was side tracked by my love of YA for a while. I just got back into my first love, Horror. I just finished Bird Box by Josh Malerman yesterday and will be starting Final Girls by Riley Sager today. I have my eye on a copy of House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski. I welcome suggestions and friend requests.
