Hello folks! I'm in need! I'm after new friends to improve my recommendations and newsfeed. I'm right fed up with all this YA and Harry Potter bullshit! Please add me so my updates are more relevant to my interests. All horror genres like bizarro, Splatterpunk, paranormal and darn right weird will be happily accepted!
Hi Lisa,Justin (msg 1136 above) is a friend of mine who does a lot of reviews and has a wide reading scope, you might like to approach him.
Cheers Graeme
Hello! I am a Horror reader and aspiring writer always on the lookout for something interesting to read. Any good recommendations I would appreciate. Looking forward to meeting everyone else here.

Thank you for that, I will do :)
Hi Marc,HA is an excellent group, I'm sure that you will find what you're looking for here.
Cheers Graeme
HiMy name's Luke. I live on the beautiful Gold Coast in Australia. I love horror books but can't watch horror films, although I am looking to make one soon. I recently joined Net Galley to post my horror novel The Devil's Prayer and I am keen to connect with horror readers and reviewers who are on Net Galley.
My interest in horror is along the line of the old classic "The Omen', biblical, historical stuff and if anyone has any good recommendations please let me know.
I'm Melissa (18), currently living in Europe. I'm joining HA because this will hopefully introduce me to horror, and encourage me to enjoy it more.
Hello and welcome to HA, Marc!Lisa, check out the What Are You Reading and the What Have You Just Read threads to see what everyone else is reading. I've always found that a great way to find good book recs and people to friend and/or follow.

Thanks Graeme,
Hello Everyone. Been lurking for a few months, decided to get more active on here. I enjoy horror literature but I am very much more of a horror movie fan. I do read everything pretty much tho.
Hi! I'm an aspiring horror/thriller writer. I'm here to read and learn what draws people to horror stories. I'm also interested in discussing horror books.F.M.
Is it just me - or is this group getting more active over the last couple of weeks?Clearly a lot of smart people are seeing the light (... or should I say darkness?....) and joining HA.
Hello fellow horror fans, My name is Brandon Boyce. I've written several films in the horror genre, including APT PUPIL, based on the story by Stephen King. My novels so far have been Westerns, but the next one will be a thriller. I'm always looking for new books to read.
Hi, my name is Andrea and I don't write squat! :D But I do have to be reading constantly, so thanks to all the authors out there. I'm completely fixated on reading horror fiction and so far goodreads has been pretty helpful in finding interesting titles.
(I'm a huge fan of horror movies too)

Richard wrote: "Hey there, I'm a thriller/horror writer who's looking for some new books to add to my to read list, as well as some nice in depth discussion on the horror genre."Hi Richard! I'll have to Google your books and read one or two! I'm a fellow Horror Fic writer, with my first book "CRONE, A Scarlet St. James Novel" self-published in Nov 2015, then re-tech'd in May of this year! I'll ask you this, when was the last time you read a good old-fashioned scary book? Well, CRONE will not disappoint. Dark humor and twisted romance snake through the underworld as above ground real evil is unleashed on a small Michigan town in a third wave of grizzly murders. The Seer, Paranormal PI Scarlet "Sunni" St. James, must use her gifts to stop the onslaught as only she can. Sunni and an unlikely witness alone know what the town is up against, as they have seen the face of the hideous one. Until the inevitable showdown, the monster is still out there waiting to kill again. The woods will never be the same, muhahaha

Super creepy!"
"House of Leaves"? Can't imagine what's that story is about although it sounds like fall, Halloween, and everthing that implies. If you recommend it, I'll check it out for my end of summer reading! Thanks.
Hi horror fans! I've been interested in ghosts and the paranormal as far back as I can remember, and I wouldn't change a thing. Now I have taken it to the next level and wrote my first horror-fic book, CRONE, A Scarlet St. James Novel, late last year.I'm a die hard murder mystery and horror fan who's always looking for another good book. Although I tend to revert to my "comfort authors" such as Stephen King, Harlan Coben, Lisa Gardener, Iris Johansen (sp?), and Michael Slade to name a few, when I'm out of options.
I'm excited to be a part of this group, and hope some of you even feel compelled to read my book at some point.
House of Leaves is more of an experience than just a book. There are several threads here about it, just do a search. :)
Hi! I'm 18 and a writer-to-be. I was a hardcore fan of horror books (back in middle grade), and used to choke myself with reading Stephan King and Darren Shan's works. Right now I feel like this genre doesn't interest me anymore, though I really like using horror elements in storylines. So yeah I'd really love it if you could recommend me your favorites. Something that doesn't just yell at my face intestines! skulls! dead body! FREAK OUT! I mean they are fun (:D) but it shouldn't be the actual plot. Gruesome, psychological, paranormal, it doesn't matter as long as it has something new and meaningful to offer or is amazingly well done.~Sara
