I will agree to that one a little - (view spoiler)[I liked Manon better in the 3rd book; what I liked was the whole scene where she took Abraxos as hers. This book though, she seems more bitter than the last book. Maybe it's the narrator? I read ebook copies of the last three books and I got the audio version this time. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I'm so glad no one I liked died. For a moment there I thought that Chaol was dead and I was upset, but he's alive so all is well. And I'm sooo glad Dorian is alive. It was upsetting that he was either possessed or depressed throughout the whole book but I'm still happy he's alive.
It took me a while but eventually I could read about Rowan and Aelin without being creeped out. I'm still in shock over the fact that Chaol and Aelin aren't together anymore but I think Rowans nice enough
