Jarvis Ann and Jen are not here :/

Anyway. Putting it in the following comment. Wait :)

message 57: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis So I was thinking that may be we can start a thread where a person will post two books. The person may choose one of those books and read it. Then he will post a link to the review of the book he read or the rating *if not the complete review * and post the next two books... And it will go on.

Like. :

Person 1 :

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell or The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1) by Rick Riordan

Person 2 :

*link to his review of one of the books*

And next two books

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin or Puddle Jumping (Puddle Jumping, #1) by Amber L. Johnson
And so on.

So??

message 58: by [deleted user] (new)

Nice Idea.

message 60: by Jarvis (last edited Oct 03, 2015 06:08AM) (new)

Jarvis That's the only problem. That's why I said that it will be successful only if people participate properly.

Great Idea!!! Gehna Do it. Don't tell me to make a thread for this. I can't. *Disappeared*

message 80: by Jarvis (last edited Oct 19, 2015 08:15PM) (new)

Jarvis Achcha wait, I will make it. Just tell me how do I put it.
You guys want me to put it as a sign up thing or it should like two people (partners) are reading similar books or something else?

message 81: by [deleted user] (new)

Gehna wrote: "Achcha wait, I will make. Just tell me how do I put it.

I don't know. Ask Phani. I think partners reading similar books or the other way....
Wait for Phani.....

message 82: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis Ohkay :D

message 83: by Phani (new)

Phani Raj (phaniraj) | 288 comments i was thinking...may be who want to read a particular pair of books can read that pair back to back and discuss on some thread.

message 84: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis Ahh... Okay. So let's do it like a big buddy read. That everyone participating reads the books back to back and discuss it later. How's that?

message 85: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis Tell me the one you prefer, and then I will add it :)

message 86: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis Can we do that dare challenge in December?
This one -->https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I love phani's suggestion. :) Keep them coming :)

message 88: by Annette, The Manager (new)

Annette mathews (annettesara) | 1178 comments Mod
Rather than doing it as a buddy read , can we do it as a challenge !?

message 89: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis Okay then. How do we it as a challenge? :)

Like sign ups and all?

message 90: by Jarvis (last edited Oct 21, 2015 08:13AM) (new)

Jarvis Okay, so which challenge do you guys want in December???

Dare challenge or Buddy read or the one Phani is suggesting?

message 91: by Phani (new)

Phani Raj (phaniraj) | 288 comments I don't mind either.

I just felt that people may be interested reading books in pair(may be giving different point of views, or similar genres or complement to each other.)

But I don't think this can be read as BR we do. Maybe the BR pair can choose a pair of books and read them.

Dare challenge also seems ok, since the only difference is the no. of people involved.

Also, you guys can also make a note(thread) about the similar pairings of books among the ones you read, which you think may go well together.

message 92: by Jarvis (last edited Oct 21, 2015 09:13AM) (new)

Jarvis Okay then lets start by making a thread to list the pair of books and once we have at least 10 pairs of books, we can add it as a pair.

Can you make a thread? *disappears* :P

message 93: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis Till then, let's try Dare challenge for December. :)

message 94: by Phani (new)

Phani Raj (phaniraj) | 288 comments *Aparecium Gehna*

"...once we have at least 10 pairs of books, we can add it as a pair." I didn't get.

Please do the honors creating the Thread and suggesting the first pair of books based on your experience...*bows and moves aside*

message 95: by Phani (last edited Oct 21, 2015 11:08AM) (new)

Phani Raj (phaniraj) | 288 comments Also, I think we should make this as a note rather than a thread which grows to hundreds of comments over time, and may discourage a newcomer to go through the thread because of its sheer size...Then people can see this list and may refer it sometime later.

We may even create different kinds of lists like these...because there are many lists like 100 best reads, books to read in your lifetime, 100 books of 20th century. But I never saw any official kind of lists of this type.

After some time, these lists may grow up into to something special to our group.

message 96: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis Ohh, I meant once we have at least 10 pairs, we can add it as a CHALLENGE.
not PAIR. Sorry :P

message 97: by Jarvis (new)

Jarvis Okay wait then I will create a thread -_-

message 98: by Jarvis (last edited Oct 21, 2015 09:04PM) (new)

Jarvis Added the threads!

Shall we do a challenge based on the color of a book cover !?

Let us list out all the colors and tell them to read a book whose cover is of that particular color.

They should read it for all the colors

I saw it in another Group

For Example :

Green : A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2) by George R.R. Martin

message 100: by Karolina Kat (new)

Karolina Kat (karolina_kat) | 144 comments I really like this idea - but it would be cool if users had the choice of the book based on colour of the cover :)
