OK Glynn, good job - now if you do not get up early before 8AM then you need to proceed to the Checkout thread - which is Checkpoint 7 - the mandatory checkout thread - there is a checkout template - use that template and checkout - that is where you do your tallies but you do not have to do that now - you can do that anytime between 8AM and Noon and if you need more time let me know but it is not hard. Have a good night.

Terrific Welcome - let me give a hand with the citations and see if we can fix those up Christopher

McCarthyism by Thomas C. Reeves by Thomas C. Reeves (no photo

You have to look under other editions for the book cover but it is there.

Don't Supersize It! 10 Healthy Perspectives for the Small Church by Bob DeSagun by Bob DeSagun (no photo)

There is a book cover for this one too

Hope this helps and now fix the citations above to look like these - please edit 59

Ceroth Paul | 18 comments Check in for Checkpoint Four:

Helmet for My Pillow by Robert Leckie by Robert Leckie Robert Leckie
Genre: History
Start Page: 123
End Page: 124
Total Pages: 1
Time Read: 5 minutes
Location; Portland, OR, Pacific Time
Books Finished: 0

Back from spending time with friends at Powells Books. Didn't get anything since money's really tight right now.

I really have to head to bed. I'm beat. I guess I'm going to miss Checkpoint Five and Six. I feel bad. I'm not going to make it with this one but it is my first time doing this and I got a lot farther than I thought I would.

Rosa you need more work for your template:

Checking in:

Empath (The Empath Trilogy, #1) by H.K. Savage by H.K. Savage H.K. Savage

Genre: Fiction/Fantasy
Number of pages read: 20% (Kindle)
Time read: 45 minutes
Location: AZ,MST
Books completed: None this checkpoint-1 total

You have the citation at the top which is good.
Your genre is in - good
Start page - missing - you need to figure this out by going to a print version of your book on amazon for example and looking up the table of contents with the page numbers and figure out the starting page of the book or chapter or section
Finish page - missing - same as above - but figure out the finish page
Total pages Read - missing - figure how many pages you read during this time period
Time Spent Reading During Timeblock: good
Location/Timezone: - good
Books Completed - none this checkpoint is fine but you need to
add the full citation for the book you did read and complete - book cover, author's photo and author's link

Rosa I have to do the above for my audio books and this is easy to find out - just look at print copies of the books - not the kindle or the audio versions and go to the cover and look inside and go to the table of contents page and you should be able to figure this out. It is easy.

message 71: by Christopher (new)

Christopher (skitch41) | 158 comments I'm checking in before we go to the next check in period to record that I started another (and probably my last) book for this readathon. See you all at the next check in.

Name of Book and Author or books and authors: Unfamiliar Fishes by Sarah Vowell by Sarah Vowell Sarah Vowell
Genre or genres: history
Start page: 1
Finish page for this checkpoint: 40
Total pages read: 468
How much time did you read during this block of time: 3 hours and 15 minutes
Location in the world and timezone: San Bernardino, Pacific Standard Time (PST).
Completed books: 3 so far.
What were they?: Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee by Harper Lee Harper Lee, Don't Supersize It! 10 Healthy Perspectives for the Small Church by Bob DeSagun by Rev. Bob DeSagun Ph.D. & McCarthyism by Thomas C. Reeves by Thomas C. Reeves.

TENTATIVE LISTING BECAUSE FOLKS ARE STILL READING ON THE WEST COAST

SUCCESSFUL AND COMPLETE TEMPLATES AND CHECK INS

1. Samanta - Croatia - CEST
2. Jarrad - Hamburg, Germany - Central European Time Zone - (UTC +01.00)
3. Kathy - Toccua, Georgia - Eastern Standard Time
4. Christopher from California - Pacific Time Zone - thanks Christopher for doing your successful updates for the citations
5. Teri - Texas - CDT
6. Leslie - NC - EST
7. Bentley - Metro NYC - EST
8. Maureen - Georgia - EST
9. M - British Columbia - Pacific Time Zone
10. Michael, Alberta, Canada - Mountain Time Zone
11. Ebony - New Jersey - EST
12. Fiona - Ottawa, Canada - EST
13. Kristen - Camano Island, Washington - Pacific Time Zone
14. Leah - Arkansas - CTZ
15. Christopher - California - PTZ - Christopher - you have two entries and the second one has the citations correct - so good job - I am not sure why you did not edit the first one - but the second posting is good
16. Ceroth Paul - Portland, Oregon - PTZ

Template Needs More Information - just needs some updates or weeks and then I can move it to the successful column - needs required template info or some quick fixes

1. Rosalinda - Charleston, South Carolina - EST - template needs help - message 23 - incomplete template and it is 2:57AM - way after Midnight - you can come and finish it when you are up - Start and Finish pages, Total # of pages read during time period, total time read during time block, books completed (yes, no and how many) - full book citations for all completed books.
2. Doris - Kusadasi - Turkey - EEST (UTC +3.00) - you need to add the citation for the second completed book which was the one whose title began with Heroic Campaign - see your message 6
3. Rosa - Arizona - Mountain Time Zone - almost there Rosa - you just have to fix your citation at the bottom - it should look like this - Elegies & Elderberries (The Herbalist #5) by Leslie Leigh by Leslie Leigh (no photo)
4. Francie - Georgia - EST - message 13 - you have to add at bottom of comment box - the citations for the two books you completed - that would be the book cover, the author's photo if available and always the author's link
5. Karen - Pennsylvania - EST - message 18 - Karen you need to add the full citations for the two books you completed at the bottom of your template. Whenever you indicate a number of completed books we need the citations added.
6. Helga - South Carolina - EST - message 19 - you have combine a couple of sections - start page and finish page which is OK - but I want the total number of pages computed and a section called Total Pages Read for this Timeblock: - figure out the total so that I do not have to do it, and then make sure to add the full citations at the bottom of the books you have completed - you cannot just say one without the full citation
7. Chris from Kansas - CDT - message 29 - very simple fix - just add the full citation for the completed book which was noted as one but without the full citation
8. Gyoza - Atlanta, Georgia, EST - Gyoza I know the difficulties with kindle books and audios but we permit them with one caveat - find the print copy of the book and look up the table of contents on amazon (easy to do) and figure out the start pages and end pages for the chapters, books and put those in - it might be approximate but better than nothing - then you have to figure out approximately how many total pages read in the time block - that is easy to approximate using the same methods which I just used this evening with my audio book. You need the start and end page and you also need your location/timezone which is also missing.
9. Jill - West Virgina - EDT - the book completed needs a citation at the bottom
10. Glynn - Florida - EST - Glynn minor issue - you forgot the timezone

Folks check this list and make sure you are on it - if I missed you let me know and I will check the thread and add your name. It is unintentional.

Rosalinda, Doris, Rosa, Francie, Karen, Helga, Chris, Gyoza, Jill, Glynn just look at missing parts/fixes and add them. And then you will be A-OK - there are two required templates used - one for Checkpoints 1 through 6 and the second required template used for the mandatory check out which is Checkpoint 7

OK Kristen I will take a look and get back to you on this thread so circle back tomorrow to do any updates if still necessary and if you are done for the evening and morning - you would move from 4 to the check out thread which is 7 - I give folks until Noon to get that done because those are the tallies so you can get some rest and sleep first.

Folks, there were more issues on this Check In than on any other - I attribute it to everybody getting a bit tired.

Just go back in and fix things up - if you need some help or do not understand what you did wrong or missed or what needs fixing - just contact me here or via PM.

We are always here to help.
