Work_in_progress I'm writing a story and I have some concerns about one of the characters

She's supposed to kind of be the chill cool character occasionally she seems a bit awkward about doing friendly things with other people because she never really had a chance to make friends before
I was wondering if you thought it made sense with the girl who's supposed to be more of a 'I don't really care's person?

Roxanne Shriver (roxannexshriver) When the cool character starts acting awkward in front of people, it makes them realistic. Nobody can keep their cool all the time. So long as she tries her best to keep her indifferent appearance, her personality isn't completely inconsistent.

(I hope that makes sense... it sounded a lot better in my head.)

Work_in_progress That makes a ton of sense thanks a bunch for your help :)

Frankly, a character that remains static is boring. A character with one personality trait is not realistic. Let your chill character feel awkward once in a while. People cannot relate to a character that doesn't have a range of emotions or reacts to every situation the same way.

Ask the same question about yourself. Are you always consistent? I would guess not as I would guess you're not a robot. Let your character be as real as she can be.
