I HATE books about authors

I hate when you find an author who has written a really great first novel, maybe even their second is good, but then all of a sudden they've run out of ideas and all the main characters in their books after that are authors and the book is about them writing books and their problems with writing books. I know countless books where the main character is an author. :P

Yeah, there's a lot of shit like that. Which do you hate the most?

I particularly loathe Richard Powers' Galatea 2.2

Borges and the Eternal Orangutan wasn't worth it, either.
