I really liked the part with the witch (view spoiler)[both the standoff between her and Will's father in the library and the one with her as a "stage show" and Charles shooting the fake bullet with a smile on it. (hide spoiler)]

It kind of reminded me of Doctor Sleep a little. (view spoiler)[In Doctor Sleep, the true knot live off steam which lasts longer if the child it's obtained from is in pain/under duress. In Something Wicked, the carnival folk seem to thrive on tears, sorrow, and wanting something which one can't have. (hide spoiler)]

I have just finished the book and thought it was excellent. What a philosophical ending. I remember always wanting to be older when I was young and now I wish I was younger so I guess the carnival would get me if it came to town! I thought this book was beautifully written although I did have difficulties with it when I first started reading. I am now looking forward to reading Farenheit 451which I have heard is an excellent book. I like books that really make you think about your life and what it means to you. I can really relate to Jim and Will as I have had friends in life that through no fault of our own I have outgrown - I found this happened when I moved away to University. This book made me wonder what my childhood friends are up to now.
