Angel Gelique (angelgelique) | 35 comments I sent the Barnes and Noble URL and information to Amazon. Hopefully they'll match the free price.

D.C. | 327 comments Do you need people to tell Amazon to price match?

Wasn't sure, so I went ahead and told Amazon about the "lower price".

D.C. | 327 comments You're welcome. I do wish Amazon would make it easier to have stuff for free.

Nocomus Columbus | 14 comments I agree. It could be more beneficial to them in the long run if they did.

D.C. | 327 comments Yes, I know they want to make money, but that policy sends traffic to B&N and Smashwords.

Al "Tank" (alkalar) | 280 comments Amazon does what it wants to. They reserve the right to price books any way they want. I've seen some books that are permanently free (Wool for one), but I can't get them to make some "lead-in" short stories of ours free on a permanent basis (they're already free everywhere else).

If you go with their KDP Select program, you can price them free for 5 days, but your book is tied up on Amazon ONLY, for 90 days (you can't sell it anywhere else), which probably messes up what you're trying to accomplish.

In the meantime, you'll probably have to put up with a 99-cent price on your book on Amazon and free everywhere else.

Oddly enough, we do sell some 99 cent short stories on Amazon -- even though we advertise the short word count on the book's blurb.
