It is my second time reading this book. I didn't like it quite as much as I had the first time but it was still a solid four stars.

Right as you posted we got a goal "Read a book where the kindle version is 500 or more pages". Perfect timing! :D

don't you hate that when it isn't as wonderful the second time around?
Margaret wrote: "don't you hate that when it isn't as wonderful the second time around? "I do hate it. It's one reason that I don't reread books very often. I find that my memory of them is often much better.
I used Shannon's Sticks & Stones to complete the goal "read a book with a character whose first name starts with E" and M's The Day of the Barbarians: The Battle That Led to the Fall of the Roman Empire to complete "Read a book with a title that has more than 25 characters".Now I'm just waiting for our newest goal.
I'm with you Margaret. I don't generally enjoy a book the second time, except for "Anna Karenina". I have a completely different reaction every time I read it.
Used M's book Assassins of the Steam Age for "read a book first published in December" and M's book Praetorian for "Read a book where a character's first name starts with the letter P".
Saxa's new goal: Read a book that is in the Amazon 2000 bestsellers (http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/...)I'll look through the list a little later. Right now I'm going to go find some nibbly bits. :)

I just finished an audio and ready to take on another one. :) I'll see what I can come up with. I still have to do my review and post it finished. nibbly bits? I have never heard you use that expression, I can picture that. :D
Margaret wrote: "nibbly bits? I have never heard you use that expression, I can picture that. :D ."It's an expression I ran across several times so far in Prudence. I've decided that I like the phrase a lot. :)
Chris wrote: "I'm with you Margaret. I don't generally enjoy a book the second time, except for "Anna Karenina". I have a completely different reaction every time I read it."@Chris....I have a few "second time around" books that I love and one of them is Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky and Fields of Home by Ralph Moody. I have been wanting to read Anna Karenina forever. Which translation would you recommend?
So....here is what I am thinking. I was going to read one of those books you suggested Amanda for the goal of Published on the 24th of the month. I have
already on my ipod which I was going to start tomorrow anyway. And I have
(your book, Amanda) that I can read for the Amazon 2000 best seller goal. I will start it hopefully soon but if someone else grabs the goal before me, that's fine.....I'll double check beforehand.
Is anyone doing the penguin goal or are you all considering taking a boon?
Elle wrote: "Is anyone doing the penguin goal or are you all considering taking a boon?"It took a lot of searching but I finally found a penguin book this afternoon. It was difficult to find books about penguins because every search came up with books from the Penguin publishing company.
Anyway, I found a list of romance books where the characters have unusual pets: http://likesbooks.com/pets.html
I'll be reading

The last time I read it was an online edition translated by Constance Garnett, the book was Kindle
. Before that, my Mom has an old edition, probably from the 60's, and I don't know who translated it.

I've been checking out the other teams' goals & I find it interesting that everyone keeps getting repeat goals. So that's another reason why it's not bad if two people read for one goal :D

I liked this one better than the first I think, but it was just OK. Of course I'll listen to the 3rd because I still have no clue WTH is going on...

You will have to tell me then. My curiosity was not strong enough to keep this a priority on my TBR so the last book will probably never get read.
I Am Malala works for GR Choice Awards that M read.
Salvage the Bones had a female narrator. Actually, a lot of things probably fit this goal but I downloaded the audio on this to try so I know it's female & Henrietta Lacks was female too.
Elle wrote: "Salvage the Bones had a female narrator. If not...my book that I just finished yesterday was
narrated by a woman.

In Rebel Queen there's a character named Lakshmi, so that should work for the L goal.
