Remember, the book not only needs the specified color, but the specified GENRE as well. I'm not seeing Historical Fiction listed, which is the genre needed for purple, so it won't work. Maybe you'll be able to find another task for it.

Oh, I wish you hadn't mentioned teal, because now that's all I can see! However, where the light is showing through (I think that's what that is) is pulling more blue than green for me, so it's approved for blue!

SamZ (samwisezbrown) Does this book work for fantasy? I know the cover is blue, so that works; but I'm wondering about the SRC guidelines for the children's book part?
The BFG by Roald Dahl

My gut reaction is to say no, it won't work. According to Amazon, it has a reading level of 7 (meaning for age 7), and according to the SRC rules "If the intended audience is 9 years old or younger, it probably won't work for the task".

Can a moderator weigh in here?

Stacie's correct. This is an Early Elementary School book and won't work for SRC tasks.

Unfortunately, it's totally looks more pink than orange to me. Sorry, it won't work.

Your first two books are fine. For the last one, green is for science fiction, and purple is for historical fiction. Unfortunately, and I'm not sure if this is just another Goodreads fluke, no genres are showing up for the last book, so as of right now, it cannot be used.

message 117: by Helen (new)

Helen Southall (hsouthall) | 356 comments No problem. I will focus on the first two - the 3rd one seems like a snafu all the way around. Not enough caffeine to keep the mind firing on all cylinders apparently! Thanks for the feedback.

You can do it! I've got about 15 left, so there's no way I'll make the 30 point cutoff, but I should be able to finish. Work has just been kicking my a$$ this tune around!

Hey, thanks for the quick response.

I think I've found a book to use instead:
Flash Boys A Wall Street Revolt by Michael Lewis
Flash Boys: A Wall Street Revolt (2014) by Michael Lewis (Hardcover, 274 pages)

Mystery > Crime

Would that one work? Thanks!

I'll approve it for blue, for sure. The girl's shirt looks a little too pink for me to be considered orange. Good choice, by the way! I just read it yesterday! I am loving this series!
