Longhare Content | 43 comments M.C., Finding an editor is an exciting step in readying your books for publication. There is a lot of good information in this discussion group. I always recommend getting sample edits from a number of editors so that you are sure to find someone you will be happy working with. I invite you to visit my web site, or friend me. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Good luck, and I hope you'll share your progress with the rest of us.

Hiya, congratulations on your trilogy! I'm a UK based editor, should you need one. I also work with writers from elsewhere, of course, but am particularly suited to stories set in the UK and/or from UK writers.
My website is www.coinlea.co.uk - you can see testimonials and services offered on there, and I'd be happy to discuss requirements and prices with you.

J.M. Rankin (jmrankin) | 64 comments Hi M.C.
I am a fully qualified copy editor/proofreader, having worked for both authors and publishers alike (references always available) since 2008. I currently charge £5 per 1000 words for copy editing (which includes spelling, grammar, flow, sentence structure, characterisation etc), and offer the first 1000 words free. I charge in this way so that you are always in control of costs as I can review as much or as little of your novel as you wish. I also offer the first 1000 words free as it allows you to see how I work and helps me assess the level of input and help your novel requires.
I hope this information is helpful but I would happily discuss this further if you are interested. You can contact me here on Goodreads, direct via my email whitediamondedits@gmail.com, or via my website whitediamondedits.wordpress.com

Erica Ellis (ericainmn) | 48 comments Hello, M.C. I am a professional editor with fiction experience. I provide a combination of line editing and copy editing designed to help you say exactly what you want to say in the best way possible. I always make two passes through a manuscript and work closely with the author to ensure that we are on the same page (figuratively speaking!). I provide a free sample edit so that you can check out my editorial style, and we can both be certain that we'd make a good team. I have been trained at UC San Diego and have many happy customers. You can check out my credentials and customer testimonials at my website, www.ericaellisfreelance.com. If you have any questions or would like to schedule your sample edit, you can contact me here at Goodreads, through email at ericaellismn@gmail.com, or directly from my website.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Erica

Husnaa (xohusnaaxo) | 8 comments Hi,

Books have to be one of my major passions in life which leads to my love of editing and proofreading. I am a complete grammar freak so this job suits me. I wouldn't even call it a job because it's just something I love to do. I'm not a professional proofreader as in I don't have many edited books under my guise but there are a few that I have done for free as a sort of experience and just the love of doing it, I have done mostly Harry Potter fan fictions. If you're interested to see my work, please shoot me an email: hhassam13@hotmail.com
Look forward to hearing from you (:

I'm a former journalist, proofer, and high school English teacher. I offer copyediting and proofreading and can provide a free sample edit so you can decide if my style works for your book.

I'm currently copyediting an urban fantasy novel, and, at the moment, my next opening is at the end of March.

You can learn more about my services at www.bookflydesign.com/editing.

Thanks, and good luck finding the right editor for you.

K. (kristye1122) | 1 comments Hi M.C.
I'm a freelance editor and work-at-home mom who edits during the day while my son is at school. My main author is M.R. Pritchard, and I've edited all of her books. I edited her first novel, The Phoenix Project, after she had already published it. She re-released it with my edits. I've edited all books she's written since then.

You can check out my blog at Edit Schmedit.

Thank you!
Kristy Ellsworth
