ABANDONED. Memoir by a Magician published in 2012 or 2013

I am looking for a book which is an autobiography/memoir written by a magician in the past 2 or 3 years. In the first chapter the author is given critical advice by a theater owner, told to stop using pentagrams in his act, and asked to wear a turban and do more seances. When he changes his act, the people don't like it as much and the theater owner is confused.

I believe this book was written with a skeptical perspective. It's not "Charlatan" the book about the magician who becomes a Christian.

Possibly Fooling Houdini: Magicians, Mentalists, Math Geeks, and the Hidden Powers of the Mind, though I don't remember anything about pentagrams or turbans.

Maybe Confessions of a Conjuror? Which I haven't read, so is just a guess.
