Blue Eyed Vixen | 6 comments “Damn it,” I growled, reading hungrily through the last pages with an edge to my jaw.

“They have plenty of time to work on it,” I deluded myself that Bella and Edward's story would just go on and on.

“Forever and forever and forever,” I murmured.

“That sounds exactly right to me.” I thought turning over page 548 .... The End ..... NNOOOOOO!!!!

So "folks" ... where do we go to from here???

I realise I cannot turn full circle and start Twilight again. I fight the urge to crawl up into a New Moonish ball of denial. I must move on from this place.

Please someone point the way towards the light and suggest a direction for me to stagger towards...please suggest some authors or books!!! I beg 0f you...what makes them a good read?

Alright, alright! There is life after twilight, I am positive. I am too drowsy to explain what makes these books a good read, but you must try! Try Daisymay, to see these reccomendations. I myself have not read these, but you and I both can see if there is, indeed, life after twilight.

Yeah, the book has a Harry Potter feel to it. You can download the first 40 pages in pdf, from the official website, www.branhambric.com/

I invited him to GoodReads, and he's now a goodreads author...but I think it's just his publicist running the account, and it's not too active.

Emi B (emib) You should try The Darkest Powers series which consists of the summoning and the awakening by kelley armstrong. My boyfriend to loved the twilights and enjoyed these to he has read both of them. I am currently reading the awakeing they are very quick moving and easy to read like the twilight series they also have supernaturals similar to the ones in twilight. There is also suspense and mystery through out the books. I highly recomend you try them they are also a bit dark and intense.
The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

That is, if he's really running it. The email to set it up is his publicists email. :(

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

It's wierd, it's like she doesn't know it's supposed to be run by the author themself, and not any handler.

??????????????????????

lol!!! in her blood...

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Does that mean it can go away if I were to get some sucked out of me... Well, actually, that might work in the literal and figurative sense. If a Vampire drank my blood, I wouldn't be cool with that.

There is only one other book I read with as much ferver as the Twilight series. It's called "Firefly Lane" by Kristin Hannah.

It had me laughing out loud and reading through tears - the basis of the story reminds me of the movie "Beaches" Two friends from childhood growing up, growing apart and then back together again. I've read it every year on vacation... you wont be sorry!

I have Evermore and the next one Blue Moon...thanks for recommendation...

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Umm I haven't read any other vampire books really and they are all for people my age (not old young) so they are incredibly lame and i hate other vampire stories cuz some of them are just plain cheesy. I really like the House of Night ones and Uninvited.

Vampire Academy is a really good series...I also like the Blue Blood books.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Ya I am going to read those soon (when the public library finally gets to me on the reserve list cause my school library doesn't think they are at an 8th grade level which is understandable cause I read/comprehend at a college level....) My mom read the bluebloods and eventually I will read them

oh, and does anyone like Jodi Picoult? right now I'm reading Handle With Care. it's about a girl with OI. My Sister's Keeper was made into a movie that came out this summer. they changed the ending though. Nineteen Minutes is also good. those are the only two i've read, with the exception of Handle With Care which I'm currently reading. I checked Plain Truth out from the library and I bought Change of Heart.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

i've read My Sisters Keeper and Plain they were both good. I like her writing.

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) somebody's already said this, but The Mortal Instruments is pretty good.
- i just got finished with a relatively unknown series (here in the US) called Faerie Wars. They're NY Times bestselling and i think they're AMAZING! i would definitely recommend them
- and The Looking Glass Wars series is one of my absolute favorites! the 3rd and final book is coming out this week--YAY!

oh yeah and ps: read Percy Jackson!!!! AHHHH!

message 43: by Cassie (new)

Cassie | 2 comments If you don't mind deviating away from vampires, i would recommend VC Andrews books.
http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

Her books are similar to the Twilight books on many different levels, except that most of them aren't paranormal.
They do have dark, paranormal style undertones, though.
The earlier books published under her name (She died over 20 years ago, so a ghostwriter has been publishing under her name ever since) were published in the 70s and 80s, so they're a little old fashioned, but still very captivating.

There are a couple vampire books published under her name, though. There's "Daughter of Darkness" and "Daughter of light" (which just came out today!)

message 46: by Adria (new)

Adria | 23 comments I don't know if its been said already or not, but try the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris. The True Blood HBO series was based off them but the books are much better. There are plenty of vampires and werewolves and even more supernatural creatures. Its a great series.
