I am so sorry, Theresa. In reviewing your list, I found only 4 decades represented. One of the requirements for the EotP challenge is five different decades (by original publication date) be included in your chain. The decades I show are 1970-79, 1990-99, 2000-09, 2010-14. I am human and may have made an error somewhere, but at the moment, I do not have the EotP as complete for you.

Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard
+10 task
+ 5 oldie (published 1974)
Task total: 15
Grand total: 205

Kate, that's definitely my mistake. I've got a very heavy load on my mind right now and totally missed that part of the rules.
I know for certain I have a 1949 book I can use, so I'll read that or another qualifying book this week, then we can switch out one of the ones in my EotP group for that.
For now, just deduct the 350 points (150 for EotP and 200 for the Mega Finish), and I'll finish by Saturday.
Sorry for my screw-up!

The Next Rodeo: New and Selected Essays by William Kittredge
+20 Task William Kittredge was born in Portland, Oregon where I live.
+10 not-a-novel (essays)
Task total: 30
Grand Total: 525

Oh no! Thank goodness there is another book on hand. If your 1949 book is slow, here are a couple of other good books that should be quick reads:
A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin (Boston Globe-Horn Book)
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes (Nebula)
The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade (otherwise known as Marat/Sade) by Peter Weiss (PEN Translation)

The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare
+20 Task: after reading Christopher Moore's retelling The Serpent of Venice: A Novel, I had to read the original that inspired the task!
+15: Combo: 10.2 Play / 10.4 Romeo and Juliet / 20.1 Shakespeare's Birthday
+10 Not a Novel(play)
+25 Oldies (1600)
Task Total: 70
Grand Total: 1650

A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin (Boston Globe-Horn Book)..."
Thanks so much for the suggestions, Liz! The Man With the Golden Arm is really dragging...definitely not up to the movie with Frank Sinatra. I really need something that can lift my spirits right now.
Fortunately, my library had A Wizard of Earthsea available in the audiobook read by Rob Inglis. He's the same narrator who read The Hobbit so beautifully. It's exactly what I need.

Oof, had I known that was your book I would have warned you off much more strongly! (I did not enjoy that book).
