Cynthia (simetra) | 1 comments I read this in the late '90s or early 2000s. I'm pretty sure it was a YA book before YA became really popular. The narrator is a girl named Stick or Stickley and she talks about diagramming sentences a lot. I think she is a dancer. The book starts off with her remembering watching the Challenger disaster and Christa McAuliffe. She lives in a rural area that she calls a hamlet. She befriends a girl who goes missing and later they find her in the woods barely alive.

Edit: I found it: Against Gravity
