Same here xD I live in Georgia and I don't have an accent. I know like... three people that have accents. Well... maybe more, but that's beside the point. Most people I know don't have accents xD

message 1356: by ♫Huneeya♥ (new)

♫Huneeya♥ | 687 comments thats not possible
EVERYBODY has an accent, u just dont notice some ppls because everyone else in your area has the same accent so ur used 2 it
if u moved 2 like, spain or something, they would think u have an accent :P

message 1357: by Jayda (new)

Jayda This is true. But we're talking about southern accents xD We don't have southern accents.

message 1358: by Annemarie (new)

Annemarie Carlson (annielawlz) | 361 comments No offense to anyone with a southern accent, but I can't stand them. They are my least favourite accent ever.
My accents all messed up a mixture of French/American/British/Danish and a bunch other European countries and a bit of Australian.

Aw, thanks guys! It was Logos 4th Annual Spurs Vocabulary Challenge or something like that. I was up against like 49 other kids or so and there was a written test. The kids with the top twenty scores went on to the oral round. I didn't have to wait long for my name to be or not to be called. I was #5, cuz they did everything alphabetically..... I WAS the first name called. Yes, meaning, I was also first chair. First on up. I WAS SO NERVOUS!!!! I felt like I was gonna puke. But I'll spare you those details. ;) Anyway, I kept getting super-easy words. I'm not actually some amazingly awesome vocab whiz. *grins* Anyway, so how're you guys!? Anything exciting and awesome happen to u???

*blushes* Aw, thanks guys! I'm so lucky to have such awesome supportive friends. =) You guys rock.

And a vocab contest is... okay, so there was a booklet of 500 words (which is a LOT more than it sounds when you've only known about it for like 2 weeks!) that we were supposed to study, which was great. The only problem was that if you got into the oral round, once you got down to six people, they started bring in other words that WEREN'T in the booklet. We all knew this, of course, but I had to tell them what a polymath was! And you can bet that my answer was a total and complete guess!!! Lol. I now know that it is a great learner, lol. I got lucky when it came to that one. =) So yeah.

And then I got a BMSN Top Dog Award, which is a program our school is doing to award those in our school who are I guess at the top of their game. Every staff and faculty member has 3 to give away for the year. I got mine from one of our vice principals (we have 2 -I know, weird) and she's known me since kindergarten because she used to be the vice-principal at my elementary school. Anyway, she gave it to me for representing our school well and for always being "so sweet and kind". My quotations, her words, lol. Anyway, it's been a pretty awesome week.

My science teacher started bowing down in front of me and had this awesome short speech. It was hilarious. Something along the basic lines of "I am not worthy to your superior mastery of vocabulary!" or something like that. It was a bit embarrassing but overall completely hilarious. And then I made a 98 on my science test! Admittedly, it was pretty easy, but I didn't even study for it, so I'll take the 98! It's been a pretty fin and awesome week overall. So now you are all caught up with why I haven't been on (studying REALLY hard) and what else I've been up to. ;) Now tell me about you!!! =) I've missed you guys TONS!!!

message 1388: by Indi, the Empress of Maturity. God knows, we need one of them! (new)

Indi (indie_indigo) | 788 comments Mod
Also, they don't have the whole thing, but some of it was recorded and there's a clip, if you wanna see it. I can post the link if anyone wants to see me tell what a polymath is and what annul means and whatnot.

message 1389: by [deleted user] (new)

I wanna see the link Jess! :) Good job!!!! :). And...we know we rock! :P.

I have been up to nothing. But I have a spellathon thingy at my school after break ends...and its nothing like your vocab contest. We only have a hundred words and we just have to spell them..every word you get right, a sponsor would give you a dollar or 5 dollars. Its basically a fundraiser for the English Department at my school.

message 1390: by [deleted user] (new)

O. I forgot something...I turn 12 on monday! :).

It's true! U guys do totally rock! AND AWESOME!!! HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!!! And omg, our school should do that. ;) I'm not terrible at spelling! And thank you! Here's the link!

message 1392: by [deleted user] (new)

ahaha. Jess, were you number 5? And THANK YOU! Wow, you were amazing! :)
I managed to convice my parents to give me 5 dollars for each word i get right, seperately. so if I get all 100 correct, I'll have raised 1,000 dollars for my English Department. YAY! I'm actually good at spelling.

message 1393: by Indi, the Empress of Maturity. God knows, we need one of them! (new)

Indi (indie_indigo) | 788 comments Mod
Yup, I was 5. Cuz they did everything alphabetically. And my last name starts with a C. So I was first. I almost threw up, lol. And, awwww, thank you! Me and the kid with long hair that was wearing a t-shirt and shorts were who it came down to. He won 2nd place.

OMG, that is so cool! Did they give you words to study???

message 1394: by Indi, the Empress of Maturity. God knows, we need one of them! (new)

Indi (indie_indigo) | 788 comments Mod
But WOW, that's going to be a big expense for your parents!

message 1395: by [deleted user] (new)

Yea, but they do not realize that on the pretest I only got 6 wrong out of 100. I'm gonna rock this spellathon. I got the best in my class! :)

Meh, I do not think they really care...

message 1398: by [deleted user] (new)

LOL. I loved ur play on words. *giggles and whispers* in-freaking-credible. That kinda made my day.

Wanna know something stupid? Today, I accidently said,"MERRY CHRISTMAS!" to my friend. Wanna know something even stupider? She doesn't even celebrate Christmas. I feel so stupid.

Lol, I'm glad! I don't remember where that came from, I think I heard it or read it somewhere! Glad I could make you laugh! =)

OMG, I would die of embarrassment! I'm going to have Thanksgiving twice this week, which is so not going to be good for my self esteem the next time I go check the scale, lol. We had our thanksgiving today because my dad, brother, and I are all going up to Arkansas over break. My mom can't come cuz she has to work the day b4 and after and we always drive up there, so yeah. The food's great, but it is SO not going to be good for my waistline!

This guy I know has a competition with his extended family to see who can gain the most weight. He gained three pounds once, and his uncle gained five... I swear, I'm not making that up. That's so funny, but disgusting... Haha.
