Heather Pearson (heatherpearson) | 53 comments I didn't even consider this a coming of age tale. I saw it more from the historical perspective and from that of an autistic child. But yes, I does work as a coming of age. Ruby certainly had a tough time and it wasn't made easier by having a brother who is rather different.
