Ooh yay! I've had this one sitting on my Kindle waiting for me to read. Another one I get to cross off my to-read list! I think it sounds cute. Looking forward to starting it!
For some reason, I'm not getting these email updates anymore. I'm glad I decided to check and see if there was a decision made. :) I'm excited to read this one, too, even though I'm a little older than a '98 grad. Haha.
I have this one available for Kindle loan. Let me know if you want it. I can only loan it once though.
Sorry ladies, I don't have it to loan anymore. I returned it because of content. Ya'll have to let me know how it ends...I am curious. :)
I am pretty sensitive. It has quite a bit of language for me, but I stopped when JC was used. It talks casually about teen sex, no details except one groping, and teen drinking. I got about half way. Otherwise it was a cute and fun story.I am still curious how it ends though. :(
I told Kathy the following when asked about the book: "I like it so far. There is a little bit of minor language but it's not excessive. (But there was one JC, which really bugged me). Fooling around is mentioned (but more so in the "you haven't even fooled around with him" manner) but hasn't happened (or at least stopped when the guy who's supposed to be her boyfriend in '98 tried to cop a feel). It's a really cute story so far and I really like Matt and Jackie a lot. And it's officially gotten to the "I don't want to put it down" stage. :) "I would say that any sexual content is more so mentioned about the past or what "isn't" happening (because her boyfriend is wondering what's changed lately--when she returns to '98)...if that makes sense? But nothing sexual is described or has even happened in the book. Drinking-wise, I think a side character mentions that there might be a keg at a party, but again, it's just mentioned--nothing happens, and the main characters don't partake. Matt and Jackie do have a beer together because they said "technically" they are legal since mentally they are 28, so it's not underage drinking.
So far, no sexual content. I would say the content is language-wise--it's been some D, H, and I think a few S (from Matt's friend).
Thanks Tara! I've read the first chapter, but have had too much going on to get back to it. Hopefully I can get some reading in tonight. :)
I don't want you to think I was trying to complain. I had just offered my copy to loan when I was done, and didn't want anyone waiting around for it.

I'm that way with the f-word. Don't feel bad at all :)
I thought the book started out strong; I made it halfway through the book before it started feeling like Groundhog Day to me. I got bored and put it down... I will pick it back up if people start talking about how great it got -- maybe they are finally about to figure some things out? I want to sit the main characters down and explain to them how time travel works in the hope that they might do something interesting! Unfortunately, the language does remind me of being in high school, and I thought that groping incident was unnecessary...
LOL, I'm always worried I'll choose books with nothing to talk about. Glad this one is at least going to give us something to discuss. ;)

Teryn...good for you!! Never apologize for not being willing to put words/thoughts into your head that you don't feel right about. I think we each have what we will allow into our space and everyone is different. I too can be pretty sensitive so I totally get it.
Thanks also Tara for the review so far. I'm on the fence about picking this one up. :)

I just finished it (unfortunately I'm in the hospital this week for a kind of weird infection, but it does give me a lot of extra time to read...). I have mixed feelings about this book. There were some very good parts but also parts I didn't like. Also, I know this is a deal-breaker for a lot of you: the main characters sleep together at one point (and no, they're not married). It's completely behind closed doors but still. I thought I should mention it.I did not get Jackie's big deal with trying to make sure they don't change anything in the past. Why would you think that would help? I'd be all, okay, what do I need to do better this time around?

Happy Reading!
