Discussion for chapters 36-47 (end)

Veronica Ross (theotherveronicaa) | 14 comments OHMYGOSH okay I can finally talk about everything I want to. Are there any Criminal Minds fans out there? If so, do you remember the episode where Reid gets kidnapped with a guy with multiple personality disorder? One of the personalities was the archangel Raphael. I suspected this from the very first time I saw his name pronounced and I was right! Okay I didn't really ship Penryn and Raffe until that super sweet scene where he thinks she's DYING. But if that's what it takes then whatever I guess. And Paige! Oh my gosh how weird is she? She must be one of those crazy low demon things. Sadly, I never really cared for her character very much so I don't really care what happens to her. I feel so bad for Raffe though! I can't wait for the next book. My angel has to get his real wings back!

Tyler 2013-2014 | 4 comments See I thought Paige was a child cannibal like the couple's son. Didn't Penryn and Raffe say that the low demons weren't humans or angels? So wouldn't that rule out the possibility of Paige being a low demon?

David | 2 comments OMG, I JUST FINISHED

Bailey | 10 comments They are not really demons tht is just what penryn and raffe were calling them

Tyler 2013-2014 | 4 comments Well still. They said they weren't human or angel , and I imagined that Paige still LOOKED human.

Bailey | 10 comments The could be mutant children that's my best guess but I just don't understand why the angels would create those things and because it was only children

I have my suspicions that Uriel and the other guy who stole Raffe's wings that they intentionally created the myth of these low demons just so that they'd have an excuse to draw out their stay on earth and kill off Raffe and his warriors as competition. Like I know I probably just phrased that really weirdly, but I hope you get what I mean. Like, because of the children becoming low demons Raffe's watchers or whatever they were called became damned, right? But then there was this one scene I remember where it very very very briefly says something about them being ridden like 'tortured slaves'?

On a side-note, I have my suspicions that the mother is either the devil herself or is legitimately the devil's minion. :l

Veronica Ross (theotherveronicaa) | 14 comments I thought the boy who ate the girls in the tree was the same as a low demon. But now that I think about it, you're right. The descriptions wouldn't match. I'm very curious as to why that other guy is even after Raffe. I mean I could understand Uriel, but not the guy who stole his wings. Like what's his problem?

Tyler 2013-2014 | 4 comments I don't know what that Biel guys problem was. I would guess that since Raphael is an archangel and Biel is a demon, Raffe probably sent him back to whatever hell hole he came from originally. Demons and evil creature seem to hold internal grudges in a lot of books.

My guess is that Biel has some inferiority complex because he's a demon and no one wants him around, he's also always been like a minion to others like to Uriel now? And that's why he was obsessed with getting Raffe's wings? (Raffe was a leader and a hero figure which made Biel jealous??) This logic just makes sense to me.

Matt Doer | 1 comments Did anyone else think this book was like a more gruesome cross between the 5th wave and the movie Legion?

message 13: by Cat (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cat (moviesinmyhead) | 11 comments I just finished and I am in love with this book! I've already ordered the next one. I think that the angels and demons led by Uriel were taking the children and turning them into sort of automatons that were similar to nephilim so they could justify the war. One of the things I loved most was that Raffe and Penryn didn't "fall in love" they were together out of necessity and eventually grew to care for each other. I can't wait to see how everything develops in the next book. World After read a long anyone? ;)

A little bit, yes. The part in the end when Penryn saw the tubes with people/angels/demons(?) inside them, and also the part when she saw the pile of kids stacked on top of one another, creeped the hell out of me.

Angela (angelamsong) | 1 comments LOVED the book sooo much and I'm already 120 pages into World After!!!! I love that Susan Ee was not afraid to be graphic, and I SHIP RAFFE AND PENRYN SO HARD.

THE SHIP HAS SAILED.

This series is now one of my favourites!! Are you guys having a liveshow for the read-a-long?
