I did mention elsewhere closer to the start of the year that I'll be missing for a bit because of going in for surgery. Well, the surgery date is just a few days away now. With that being the case, I thought I'd mention it here, so you know why I'm going to be disappearing for a bit in a couple of days.

I'm going in on Thursday (February 7th). Not sure how long I'll be gone, since it depends how quickly I recover to how long it is before they let me out. I'll definitely be gone for a few days, but it could be a week or more if they aren't happy with how well I'm recovering or something.

On the plus side, since mostly I'll be being left alone to heal (as much as they ever leave you alone in hospital) I anticipate a decent chunk of reading time ahead. ;)

I'm back. Well, sort of. Surgery went well, but I'm apparently allergic to all the good painkillers, so recovery is a slightly bumpier and rather more painful road than it should be. I'm in too much pain to do anything for long... I've been feeling so rough I didn't even take advantage of all that extra reading time (and have yet to review what I have actually finished). So, I'm technically back, but you'll need to bare with me for the next several weeks while I'm recovering, and then catching up from not being able to do much while I'm feeling like this.

I'm glad the surgery went well. I understand about painkillers! I'm not allergic, but they don't work as well for me as they do others. I hope you start feeling better soon! And no worries, we will be more than patient of course! <3

I had my wisdom tooth surgery yesterday. Got all 4 removed. The surgery went as well as I expected. No complications or anything, but I did wake up at the end of it. Not completely, but enough to feel a lot of pain. That's pretty normal for me, unfortunately :( Then I was unable to get any pain meds down for a good 4 hours after, and finally was able to get in some children's liquid IB Profen. After about 6 hours I was able to get the prescrip meds down, and it was so much better after that. I mostly slept all day, but I did wake up around midnight and was in a lot of pain, so had a rough few hours. That's just what it will be like for a few days until I start really healing. But the swelling has gone down. Darryl says I look a lot better today, and I am feeling a little more normal! I'm off work through Wednesday, so plenty of time to rest and heal!
