That sounds like so much fun Victoria. I umagine it would be like taking care of a bunch of kids so it would be exhausting.

Yeah, it was as exhausting as looking after several toddlers at once for the whole day. So totally worth the exhaustion though!

Oh gosh, Victoria, that sounds completely amazing! I'd love to do that! What was your favorite part of the day?

That's a really tough one, Karen, because the whole thing was totally awesome. I mean, it was an amazing experience in general, and the keeper we got was wonderful (both because you could see she really loved her job and cared about the animals, and with how she dealt with me as a blind person).

If I have to pick though, I think it would probably be when I got to cuddle the tame Meerkat who had been hand reared (hence being so tame) and he took a nap right there in my arms.

Donna (BookDragonGirl) (bookdragongirl) WOW Victoria!!! I am totally jealous!!! That must have been SO awesome!!!

Oh, and I do have photos, plus a couple of short video clips, but we haven't had a chance to sort them yet.

I`m watching the grande charity concert. Its on tv here.
Even though am not a grande fan, its hard not to get touch by it. Am sitting here crying actually.
So sad the world we live in is full of terror attacks.
:/

message 1360: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments I agree... So sad! I just don't understand what these people are thinking. So many innocent people - adults and children alike - suffer, and there's no need for it. Humans can be so cruel sometimes!

 Marla | 366 comments I need help...

I just tried to upload a picture to photobucket and use it on GoodReads, and it doesn't work as of 7/6/17. So I'm at a loss, does anyone else have any ideas of another free site to host uploaded images?

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments Welcome back, Oda!

Hope the trip was an enjoyable one. Good luck with the exam.

I've had a busy few weeks, and things won't be slowing down any time soon. I'm working on getting my backlist of books in audio, so busy with all the stuff to do with that (including arranging marketing/promotional stuff for when each audiobook is out) as well as trying to fit in reading, working on new writing projects, and keeping up with things online, all while being trained by... Erm... I mean, all while training a puppy.

Thanks!

The audiobook and marketing stuff I'm either on schedule or ahead of schedule for. The other stuff... Well, I'm making progress, even if it's slower than I'd like, so I guess that's OK. The audiobook and marketing stuff are most important to get done on time anyhow.

I can't believe how terrible this hurricane is. Its just mind blowing. I really hope everyone that needed to evacuate did. The radar this morning...you couldn't even see Florida through all the storm!

I hope everyone who needed to made it out safely and that the ones who stayed are safely hunkered down.

It makes me sad how much devestation the recent storms have been causing. I hope those who didn't make it out, or who stayed because they were supposed to be in areas where it wouldn't be so bad so they thought they'd be OK, make it through. I also feel sorry for those who have to deal with the loss of loved ones or property because of it.

message 1384: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments Sorry you start back to classes so soon, but at least it's not an early start.

My Christmas was pretty good, though I'd been feeling run down for a while before it, and started to get ill for real on Christmas Day, so I'm entering the new year feeling rather yucky. I'd love to just curl up in bed, but I'm going away from this coming Friday until the Monday (Friday and Monday I'll be spending most of my day on trains) so I don't have time.

Awww.. Being sick is the worst. Get better soon. And trains are a good place to relax. At least in my opinion. Here in norway we actually have some seats on local trains where its silent, its called silent seats, aka no talking, no cellphone use, no listening to music.

message 1386: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments Thanks! :)

It won't be very relaxing for me. No seat like that, that's for sure.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments My Grandad (Mother's Father) died last week.

He was 83 (turned 83 in December).

I wasn't close to him, but it's still sad, especially since I never knew my other Grandad (Dad's Dad died before I was born). I think it's hardest on the members of the family that were closer to him, but still... It's sad when anyone dies, especially if you're related to them, or knew them in some way.

So at university today we went on a field trip to a library for the blind and people with dyslexia.
It got me wondering, since this group is full of people from all over the world, how is the litterature selection for the blind in youre respective countries?
They told us that they produce several thousand audio books yearly and many braille books as well.
