Glad you had fun at the 200 year celebration.

I know... It is sometimes tricky to remember who lives where. But, anyway, yeah, I live in Hastings. I didn't always. I'm actually originally from Wales. We moved here a few years ago.

You're not missing much by not going there. It's mostly rain, mountains, rain, sheep, rain, a bunch of old castles and other buildings that are ruins or near enough, and did I mention the rain?

Well, OK, the old ruins and such are kind of interesting, assuming you like that kind of thing.

Yes I was about to say, not missing much. I want to go only because of the castles. Also I like mountains.

My husband still tells young grooms, don't worry, being married is easier and better than planning the wedding. :D

In case I forget to tell you...I tell brides...enjoy the day! Once the rehearsal or rehearsal dinner starts, don't sweat the small stuff and take time to look around and enjoy yourself...You are princess for the day!

And in the mean time, it's crazy, but I thought it was worth it. And 27 years later...I would do it all again!

I'll follow you! The best way to start is to post a few pics of what you want your account content to be. I'm assuming you are doing books, so take some fun shots of some books. If you look around Instagram, you'll notice that people put anything and everything in the pics with their books--tea cups, flowers, collectibles..whatever. Or a fun scenic pic with your books is fun, too.

Then search the hashtags #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #books #reading #reader #bookworm #booknerd ....there's a thousand more! But anyways, search those and find some accounts you like, and follow those. Look for ones that don't have a lot of followers, because they will notice that you followed and will probably follow you back.

Whenever you post pics, put as many hashtags on there that match the pic....I put all those I mentioned before on all my pics. People will see them, and if they like what they see, they'll follow you!

Lastly, try to interact a bit..not only liking pics, but also comment on them...anyone who comments on mine (that are not spamming) I automatically will follow!

Mine is @juliababyjen if you want to follow me!

This is such a huge help. Thank you so much Jenny! I think I like the scenic photo with my books since I love traveling. I'll probably make the new account over the weekend and will share it with everyone here :)

2016 certainly has had its ups and downs. More downs than ups, unfortunately. Still, it does feel weird knowing a whole new year starts in just a couple more days.

I'm not even used to it being 2016 yet...and now it will be 2017!! It was a mostly good year for us :) My mom and I had a great trip to Arizona and had a lot of fun with Karen. I started a new job that's going well. 2 more kids graduation high school. Its been an eventful year, that's for sure!

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments Happy New Year!

I don't generally do anything to see in the new year. Last night was no different from any other night for me, except for the awesome fireworks I heard going off around here at midnight.

Donna (BookDragonGirl) (bookdragongirl) I've had a really hard and stressful past two weeks. My sister was admitted into ICU two weeks ago and died early Friday morning. She had severe liver disease and a whole list of other complications. They tried everything they could, but there was nothing they could do in the end. It was extremely hard to watch her day after day get weaker and weaker until her brain shut down and she was unresponsive for five days and then she passed away.
I haven't been able to read very much. I don't seem to be able to concentrate a whole lot. Not to mention family, friends and community have all been visiting and reminiscing. The support has been wonderful.
I've just never been through something this hard before.

I am so very sorry Donna. My heart aches for you and your family. I lost my sister 6 months ago in July. A long battle with cancer. I thought I was ready since we knew it was terminal. I guess you're never ready. I'm here for you if you need someone who's walked this road. Message me anytime. In the meantime, I hope you're able to find peace and solace in your family, friends and memories of the love you have for one another.

Marla | 366 comments Donna and Kris, I'm so sorry for both your losses. Kris, 6 months is still fresh, I think. Sisters are precious gifts, but that makes their loss that much harder.

I hope both of you can find some solace in friends and family, but even on tough days, remember that it won't hurt quite this much after a year or so. You never get over it, but it isn't quite so intense a hurt and you stop feeling numb.

I'll keep you and your families in my prayers (if that is a comfort to you).

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments Yesterday I had an awesome experience... I got to be a zoo keeper for the day. It was a late Christmas present a really good friend arranged for me.

It was a totally amazing day, though I was so far beyond exhausted when the day was over that I'm not sure there's even a word for how tired I was. I literally only stayed up long enough to change out of my filthy clothes and feed and check on the furries before I went to bed.
