Yikes! It's good that you have several ways of backing things up, though. :) Haha I mean, I mostly just do the paperwork so I'm not an IT expert or anything, but I've picked up a few things here and there. :D
If you haven't read this story yet, maybe it will help cheer you up :)

How embarrassing, but very funny. I'm reading Rot & Ruin right now...and I'm really enjoying it!!! Nice to know that the author is a nice guy!

Agreed! That was my 5th time meeting him (I think) and he started calling me his stalker this time. ;) I can't help it if I always have MORE new books for him to sign! Plus he's just so adorable and funny!

Today was my last day at my old job. My co-workers were so sweet, and threw me a little suprise party complete with flowers and ice cream cake!

I start my new job on Wednesday, so I get a 4 day weekend!!!
Tonight I'm having a girl party at the bar, so excited for that too! The rest of the time I think I'll be catching up on sleep. I'm SO TIRED!! This cold I've had has been kicking my butt, and I've been working at my old job, then going over to the new one for paperwork, training, etc. Yesterday I left my house at 5 am and got home at 6:30 pm!!! I came home and slept straight through till this morning at 4am!!

Ooohh that cake. So jealous of you.
Why are you changing jobs? Out of curiosity.

Irene: happy birthday! Hope it's a great one! :)Jenny: I'm glad they made your last day at your old job so wonderful for you, and that you'll have several days to rest before you start your new job. Good luck in the new job. Like Oda, I'm curious as to why you're changing jobs. Also, what will you be doing in the new job? Is it similar to the old one, or totally different?
Thanks everyone!
I will be doing the exact same thing as my old job--Dietary Aide is my official title at the new job, though, while assistant cook was my title at the old one. Basically I work in a kitchen at a senior assisted living center.
Reasons I left:
1. Driving Distance-- #1 reason. The new job is 10 miles away, while my old one was 25 miles away.
2. More Hours--I worked 30 hours at my old job, this new one is a guaranteed 40 hours every week (and I could use the money!)
3. No more weekends! The old job was not a set schedule, my schedule changed every week, while the new one is M-F 7-3:30!!! So no more weekend or nights (unless I fill in for someone occasionally)
4. The old job had made some bad policy changes lately, and I didn't agree with a lot of things they did (like fire a hard working girl who was a single mother with a very sick little 2 year old. They fired her because she couldn't come to work, as the day care would not take the baby that day because she was very sick. They were seeing specialists and everything. I thought it was SO WRONG to fire her, instead of working with her and trying to help her. That incident really pissed me off.) My boss is also having personal problems with his marriage, and he's never there right now, and isn't doing what needs to be done for the kitchen to run smooth. It gets worse every week at that place. Not to mention, they screwed up my PTO and paycheck several times in the last month, and that was really the last straw. They did fix it, but it shouldn't have been an issue to begin with!
I think its a really good thing I'm getting out of that place. I will really miss my co-workers and the residents there, but hopefully I'll like my new ones! I was lucky to find a new job doing what I love (I really do love my job) that was closer for really great hours! I interviewed at the new place on a Friday, and they offered me a job Monday morning :) Meant to be I hope!

Youre a cook? Cool. I love to make food.
Yes, those reasons make good reasons for changing jobs. Its just so rare I hear about people changing jobs and not getting a new one because they were fired so I was curios.

In the health field its pretty common. There are so many jobs right now, and not enough people to fill them...so if you don't like who you work for, chances are you can find another job pretty easily.
As Oda said, those are good reasons for changing jobs.I hope that single Mother with the sick toddler was able to find a new job quickly too; preferably one where they will be more understanding, and work with her when she has problems because of her child, instead of firing her for it.
Me too! That's what I love about some of the challenges Jenny comes up with, it makes me go through and pull out books to read.
Awww thanks Donna! It does the same for me :)
Irene, I do too! After 2 book events in the last few months, plus all my pre-orders, I have books coming out my ears! But its a happy kind of overwhelmed :)

Lol, same here. I have probably 100 books I own that I haven't read yet. :P I have a personal challenge this year to read at least 10 books I've bought, but I've only read one so far ... I need to stop going to the library so much, haha.
Me too.I actually saw my to-read shelf start to go down a couple of months back. Now it's back up again, LOL!
I have a personal goal of focussing at least most of my reading on books I've had waiting to be read for a while. I'm not doing too badly with this, but I will admit to being tempted by some new (or just new to me in some cases) books several times.
As Donna said though, Jenny's challenges help, since I go looking through the books on my Kindle for ones that will work for them first. So, thanks, Jenny!
At least I'm not alone. I think I may need to write publishers to make them stop sending me books. I love that they do it, really, but I want to read my own books too... So far they've sent 35 books this year, and I just can't keep up anymore. Yeah challenges are great for tackling tbr's :))
Haha well, I doubt you can read them since they're I'm Danish ;) If you can though, just let me know ;)
Irene wrote: "I want to lose weight, I'm just too lazy *sigh* lol"
Thats part of the reason am the size I am. I`m too lazy to eat, I could be hungry but will be too lazy to make food.

Part of the reason for my weight is being lazy too. Not all of it... For non-weight related health reasons (health issues I've had since birth or early childhood in most cases) some days it's that I genuinely can't do much in the way of exercise. But there are days when I feel well enough and just can't be bothered. I decided long ago though that I'd rather be the size I am and happy, than the size "they" say I should be, and miserable.
Well... I was always "thin"/skinny, whatever it's called... But suddenly I gained a lot in a year. My weight is stable now, but I'd like to lose that weight again... I just like unhealthy food! LOL @Oda Oh yeah, I can relate to that! I just don't want to move, I want my food served haha. So I definitely get you!
I`ve alwats been "round"(I used to use medium now its more often large that fits).
My mom always said, as long as you eat good and have good traning habits(a.e being active twice a week, and perefably active 30 min daily), thats what counts.
For a few years my only exersise was gym class and walking to school. Then when I was 16 I started swimming weekly which is what I have been doing since. I love to swim AND its a great work out,so its a great deal.
It would be nice to be a bit thinner, but in generall am happy with my body atm.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers!
My youngest, Tessa, made me breakfast in bed and it was so good! Scrambled eggs and toast and fresh fruit! And coffee of course ;)

Tips for the unfit reader.
A lot of us are steretypical in the, always reading never exercising way.(tho some arent. If you do do sports ignore this).
Here are a few tips on how to stay in shape while being a reader.
- Use the bookstore that is far from you. Instead of using the one thats 10 min from youre home, go to the one thats across twon, or across the neigbourhood. That way you get exersise while walking to and from it.
- Dont be critical,buy\borrow all the books from the bookstore\library. If you get a lot of books, you have to carry a lot of books. Which builds mucles.
- read enganging books. If you read a book that engages you, you have to close the book now and then, yell at the characters with youre whole body, or dance of joy because the swoony kiss finally came.
- go to flea arcets, they usually have books all over so you have to bend down to see the ones on the flooor and jump to see the ones at the top.

That's a wonderful way to start the day. Although, I'd have prefered tea to coffee... I don't drink coffee.
Irene and Oda:I've always been sort of round. I'm more so now that I used to be, but I've never been thin. There was a time it bothered me a lot, and I'd work hard on my good health days to try and change it. But after a while I learned that as fast as I got the weight off, I'd end up putting it all back on, because I'd just start to make decent progress, and then have a patch of poor health that meant just getting up to go to the bathroom would have me exhausted and dizzy. When you have everything you've worked hard to achieve constantly undone like that, you eventually decide you can't be bothered.
My eating's not too bad. I won't even try to pretend I don't eat junk food, and we do have a weekly take-out night. But since I'm a vegetarian, and I make most of my meals from scratch using fresh veggies, it does work out that my eating isn't all that unhealthy. It's not the healthiest, but it's a lot better than many people I know. I know from the times when I did get some of my weight off in the past that - if properly paired with decent exercise - my eating habits are OK. The problem is the exercise... I don't get much of that most of the time.

I get that,
Youre doing what you can. If you cant exersise as much as others because of health issues then you cant.
And,go veggies!(am one as well).

Great tips Oda, made me laugh! I actually got on the bike and to the outfit training things we have nearby BEFORE BREAKFAST today. Yay! I think I'll start to take the second closest bus stop instead of the one right outside our house. We live 25 km from the city so I can't just take my bike :P
