Just so you know... I'm going to be away. I'm leaving on Thursday morning, and I don't get back until Tuesday afternoon.

I'll have little to no internet access, since I won't have much free time anyway, and the only things I'll have with me that have internet accessability are my phone and Kindle, but I don't like to use the internet much with them, since browsing the net while using the speach software really eats up the battery quickly (not to mention, touch screen keyboards still really annoy me). So after tomorrow I won't really be around for about a week.

Thanks! As much as I enjoyed it, I'm glad to be home though... I always think the best part about going somewhere is being home again afterwards with memories to enjoy while also enjoying the comfort and security of being in your own home.

Wanted to get an outside opinion since some brat over on DeviantART is making everyone uncomfortable and asked me why I left the group she was running and blew up at me when I gave legitiment reasons calmly (including putting words in my mouth, giving me her life story ect) and now she's trying to do the same to my friend (the gal who drew my avatar) saying THIS: *sighs* Sad to see you go from the group as well. Now I'm sure that it's not just because of miniscule things but because of my opinion on a matter. I'm sorry that you feel you need to leave the group just because we have different views. =(

My friend just stated she felt unsafe and the idiot is playing dumb. (including bringing MY name into it...)

Just wanted to make sure we weren't the ones going nuts cause I think this is unacceptable. She was making us feel unwelcomed in the group AND making us feel like we'd be harassed if we didn't follow her logic exact. (Including privately once telling me to essentially shut up because I offended someone popular unintentionally for asking a simple question)

Sorry to be MIA lately, but this past week has been quite the ordeal at work. We had our computer data hijacked for ransom by computer hackers!! :(

After five full days of being down, our IT guys, who worked round the clock, got us back up and fully operational at 5 pm today. We had to pay $500 to the hackers for an encryption code to unlock our data. Plus we also wiped out our computer server and reloaded everything back on with our backups. Paying the hijackers got us there a few days faster.

I already work at least 55 hours a week, so now I have to catch up those 5 days plus my normal work.

So, a word of advice, make sure you constantly back up! Make sure your virus protection is up to date and maybe even add more! We're adding another couple of daily backups and putting on even more aggressive firewalls because being down for 5 full days is not something we can ever do again! This new Malware scheme is starting to happen more and more!

I am going to do nothing but read and sleep for the next 48 hours! The stress is finally over!! Wooohooooo!!

We have 3 ways of backing up. Two were turned off for 18 days and the 3rd was also encryted. We decided to go both ways. We wiped everything on our server to get all the crap off, and reinstalled all the latest versions of software (so we got an upgrade), and by that time, we had all our data unencrypted. Either way took 5 days, but getting our data back, we didn't have to recreate 18 days. IT guys think the Malware turned off our backup. Ugh, nasty!!

That's so cool that you work in IT Brigid!! I came really really close to choosing that career path, but veered off my course somewhere along the line. :-D
