Irene wrote: "And photos! Take lots of photos! :D And have fun, of course"

To be exact, its "just" a trip from the north to the west of the country(stavanger) long days driving so not much time to take photos, also a trip I have done before.

How was the trip?

message 958: by [deleted user] (new)

Nice, kinda weird. The trip was in connection to my parents moving so for once the car was stuffed, so there was little possibility to move around(move the seat, etc etc)
But I felt like I got to see more of the country, since I sat in the front and all.
The trip was me and my dad,we slept over at family. All in all a very nice trip.

Yay Oda!! :)

message 960: by Storm (new)

Storm Arashi (stormarashi) | 1130 comments Spent my evening reading scary stuff on Reddit... Again. I just LOVE torturing myself don't I?

But one line made me laugh on the comments. Someone advised a person to use a heavy book as a weapon. All I could think of was: "I got plenty, I might as well have an arsenal."

message 961: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments Oda: I'm glad you enjoyed the trip.

Storm: I wouldn't want to use a book as a weapon... Might damage the book!

Funny. I would think a book could do some damage if angled the right way.

message 963: by Storm (new)

Storm Arashi (stormarashi) | 1130 comments I honestly think if I dropped my "Complete Works of Edgar Allen Poe" collection on someone's head in a time of crisis it'd either A: KNock them unconscious. Or B: If dropped from a far enough height... Kill 'em.

message 964: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments Oh, I'm not disagreeing that a book would make an effective weapon. But there's still the possibility of it becoming damaged in the process.

I mean, if the corner of it hits them wrong, they could end up with a cut deep enough that the book gets covered in blood. Do you know how hard blood is to get out of things? Especially things like books, which wouldn't be in particularly great shape if given a dip in salt water.

Storm Arashi (stormarashi) | 1130 comments Victoria - Oh you got a point there but if it's a messed up book vs getting injured then yeah I'd take the chance.

Victoria - XD Only us right?

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments Storm wrote: "Victoria - Oh you got a point there but if it's a messed up book vs getting injured then yeah I'd take the chance."

Yeah, if there's no other choice, then it's a good back-up plan. It would be a last resort for me is all. I mean, if I have to choose between me and the book, then I'll pick my own skin over the book. But if I can keep us both safe, so much the better. Besides, I wouldn't really want to be doing it, and would feel bad for risking damaging the book... Even though I'd be doing it to save myself.

message 968: by Storm (new)

Storm Arashi (stormarashi) | 1130 comments Yeah book last resort for sure plus to get to the heaviest one I'd have to knock over all my other books - NOT FUN. Plus I'd have better luck in a hurry with a wooden sword I got for a cosplay forever ago. The thing is legit and can do some serious damage.

Yeah, the wooden sword would be a better weapon.

Maybe if I ever had to interrogate someone I'd use a book as a torture method. Get the most boring, cliche'd, badly written book I know exists on audio and play it over and over at different speeds until the person talks.

message 971: by Marla (new)

Marla | 366 comments Now, seriously, if you are going to use the book as a weapon, you gotta commit. Swing away and you can probably buy another replacement book, if you succeed and the book got damaged in the fray.

Books as a torture device could work...and pick a poor reader. Though you don't want to put them to sleep...want to irritate, not bore.

Crutches would make a good weapon!!

message 975: by Storm (new)

Storm Arashi (stormarashi) | 1130 comments I actually have a walking stick my dad got for me from before I was even born that can serve as a good beat down stick if need be.

message 976: by Marla (new)

Marla | 366 comments Hit and run by wheelchair vs. beating with crutches...tough call...but probably more effective than pelted by a book.

message 977: by [deleted user] (new)

I sometimes think that if somebody tried to mug me it wouldent be a problem because of all the books in my bag. I would just throw my bag at them\him\her. :P

Absolutely!

I'm told my white cane is quite painful when I hit people across the ankles by accident, so I imagine it would be more painful still if I was actually intentionally trying to do damage with it.

Storm Arashi (stormarashi) | 1130 comments Happy Fourth!

I'm just gonna be lying out on my bed for awhile... I'm SO full... Dad made us a feast to remember.

Grilled vegetable foil packet with Orange bell pepper, green onions, yellow squash and sweet potatoes.

Mushroom packet that let the mushrooms cook in two sticks of butter with chopped up garlic cloves.

And grilled marinated chicken.

I can't eat anymore right now. *falls over* And did I mention our grill is one of those small weber grills you take to picnics?

Irene (raenne) So... I have five books in my basket. Not sure if I should buy them all or just some of them and look for the rest as ebooks. The books are Mystery Man (Dream Man, #1) by Kristen Ashley Thoughtless (Thoughtless, #1) by S.C. Stephens Fallen Too Far (Too Far, #1) by Abbi Glines Summer With My Sister by Lucy Diamond Skulduggery Pleasant (Skulduggery Pleasant, #1) by Derek Landy

I already have Fallen too far on my Kindle and I can't find it with the old colorful cover for a reasonable price, I can only find it with a "fifty shades of grey"-ish cover which I don't like too much: Fallen Too Far (Too Far, #1) by Abbi Glines

What do you guys think?
