...So do you guys have any summer reading plans? I used to not have one, and just wanted to read lots of books.
But I just got an idea to do a Meg Cabot summer, she has just come out with 2 new books, and I`ve been meaning to reread her princess diaries series. AS well as wanting to reread some of her pther books.
Pluss, I kinda want to read The Scarlet Pimpernel by Emmuska Orczy

Storm Arashi (stormarashi) | 1130 comments It was FANTASTIC! The plot was great, there was a lot of characterization, so many one liners, (view spoiler) Just... Ahhh I loved it!

My Summer reading goal is to read the Percy Jackson books. I have copies waiting on my Kindle, and keep meaning to read them, but I end up not doing it, so think I'll make it this year's Summer reading goal.

I'm gonna try getting to that myself. If I don't, I might just see if I can get the box set this Christmas then.

aww. I hate the feeling of not passing exams. You work and work and work, and then to find out it wasent good enough, ...worst feeling in the world. :/

Irene (raenne) Thanks girls. I don't even know if I'm supposed to write an entirely different paper this time or if it's "just" rewriting the one I already had...
And uni is closed until monday. I asked my teacher, but she didn't know because she's new :(

So is it the exam for the fall you failed or one you had these last few months? Here in norway when you fail an exam you ALWAYS get another task, and you have to wait 6 months.

message 916: by Irene (last edited Jun 04, 2015 09:40AM) (new)

Irene (raenne) It was in May. The exam I failed was a "free written exam of no more than 11 pages." That means I could choose the subject myself. And the 2nd try is the same, a free written exam of no more than 11 pages. So there are no tasks... :)
I don't have to wait than long, the deadline is 17/8, if I remember it correctly :) But that depends on the university, somewhere you have to wait 6 months as well

An exam you can write about anything? cool :)
Am currently working on a exam on 6 pages, its divided in two. 3 pages each task.

Well, as long as it's relevant of course! Lol. I've previously written about #fredagsbog (the Danish #fridayreads) and booktube! :D The perks of studying to be a librarian ;)
Is it hard? :) What are you studying?

message 919: by [deleted user] (new)

Off course it has to be relevant its an exam after all :)
Great topic (Y)
Am taking english this year hoping to get into librarian school in the fall.

So Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell among other things, is a great tribute to harry potter and the harry potter generation.
If someone were to write something similar ( aka a book where the main person is obsessed with a book phenomemon, which paraellells a real series.) Which series do you hope it would be?
Personally I think pjo, tmi, nancy drew, anna and the french kiss, lunar chronicles, and throne of glass. I choose these book series because they all have HUGE fandoms and have effected society in generall not just the book world. In the same aspect that Harry potter did.

message 931: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) I think Twilight. That's the only other series I can come up with that everyone read back when it came out. Or Fifty Shades, but that's be a whole other thing :)
I'm not sure I follow you in the 'effected society' with those books.. Anna and the French Kiss is pretty big amongst bookbloggers here right now, and TMI was too when it came out, but non-bookbloggers haven't been paying attention to any of those books. They've paid attention to FSOG, Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Twilight. :)

Well with tmi getting a tv series its getting more and more attention(or this might be me over thinking) and I belive the other books, like anna are books hat both readers and non readers(people that rread one or two books a year) love equally.

message 933: by Marla (last edited Jun 15, 2015 11:04PM) (new)

Marla | 366 comments Fifty Shades, Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Twilight are all definitely book phenoms. I agree that they exceed the normal book popularity among non-readers.

Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings are popular too, but I don't think these shows/movies are inspiring people to read the books.

message 934: by Storm (new)

Storm Arashi (stormarashi) | 1130 comments I'm just gonna put this here: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/4113053...

Pretty sure that's all of us at some point when a new book by a favorite author is out or a new book in a series you've been reading is released.
