Quincey | 2 comments The book I read, it was a little after the midevil times and the main charictor is a girl who has six older brothers. Their stepmother casts a spell on all the brothers that turns them into swans and in order to help them, she has to weave shirts for each of them, without speaking a word. She also helps in the beginning a boy from another country who is an enemy and is eventually taken there by the boys brother. The boys brother and the main character then fall in love. People think that she is a witch so they try to burn her. She only finishes 5 1/2 shirts so only five and a half brothers are returned back to normal. In the time that this took her step mom had a child and then they reveiled the truth about her.

I can remember everything about this book. Pretty much everything. But the title. HELP!!!!

Kate (Feathered Turtle Press Reviews) (stargazer401) | 257 comments Maybe Daughter of the Forest?

Edit: I did not know that, I just knew the description sounded similar to something that popped up in my recommendations.

Sophie (notemily) | 477 comments This is a classic fairy tale, The Six Swans. Daughter of the Forest is apparently a retelling.

Arielle Rae Aguilar | 126 comments I agree with the people above. I just reread Daughter of the Forest and it completely fits your description
It's a GREAT series!

Holly (hollylovesbooks) | 759 comments In the off chance it isn't Daughter of the Forest (though it does sound like it is!) at one point I made a Listopia of books that are retellings of The Wild Swans/Six Swans. It could be on there.

Serendi This doesn't fit the OP's description, but Holly, you might want to add it to your Listopia: The Black Swan by Mercedes Lackey.

Brenda | 86 comments It's been forever since I read The Seventh Swan, and I don't have a copy to check. But I do vaguely remember a woman who's accused of being a witch and is nearly burned alive.
