Hrimcealde | 15 comments This isn't technically a book, but I've been looking for this album forever! It was a pair of women who told stories, mostly folk stories from what I remember, for example there was one about Bluebeard, but there were some that were just contemporary scary stories. They would frequently tell the stories in duet form, or they would alternate back in forth for effect. I want to say that the group was called "The Storytellers" but I have never been able to find anything under that name. Part of the pleasure was the way they told the story, to work up to a conclusion that surprised/scared you - kind of like old campfire ghost stories? I don't know if any of you can help, since it is not a book, but if you know of somewhere else where it might be more appropriate to ask the question, please let me know.

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Hrimcealde, do you remember how many stories were on the album?

Were they reading from a book, or was it just a collection of folk/scary stories?

Do you remember the album cover?

Bubbagump | 3 comments Pretty sure this is The Folktellers (Connie Regan & Barbara Freeman) and their spoken-word LP called "Chillers"
