Which book should I read first? C&P or TBK?

I just finished reading the idiot which I found a bit dense but thoroughly enjoyed. Which book should I read next? Crime and Punishment or the Brothers Karamazov? I am more interested in plot and story than heavy philosophical discussions.
Thanks.

Get your feet wet with Crime & Punishment. Then go all in with the Brothers.

I'm finding TBK a bit of a slog. We seem to have to be there for everything ... not far from following characters to the toilet. D inches us forward, and then we have to go back to see what the other characters have been doing.

And my TBK doesn't have a list of characters, which I feel is as necessary as it was with C&P. I'd advise you to make your own.

All in all, I don't think I'd have bothered with C&P if I'd read TBK first ...

if you want Romance and some Action than C&P, if you want religion and rurual insight than go for TBK. C&P is an easier read and keeps you engaged almost all the way through.

1. CP 2. TBK.

C&P is my favorite of all his novels, followed by the Idiot. Read TBK twice, but I don't really remember that book..

I read TBK first and I enjoyed it more than C&P. C&P is like a very hyper singular version of TBK. TBK has more perspectives and has more of an air of mystery, whereas C&P is more straightforward and hyperactive.

Crime and Punishment or The Idiot (the latter being my preferred) - you will find the Karamazov's heavy with philosophy.

I preferred by far "Brothers Karamazov", but it's a question of taste.

Read Crime and Punishment first. Save BK for the time when you are (wrongly) jailed for a crime you didn't commit or you are stuck in Transit in some airport in Outer Mongolia or somewhere or recovering from some long illness. I've read it twice (I'm not joking...twice) and I don't know why; except that after a read it the first time I realised that I couldn't remember a thing. so I had to (had to!) read it again. Sadly I still can't remember what it's about.

It doesn´t make any difference.

Start with Notes from Underground. Then decide if you want to stick with him or sample other authors.
