Weeks 6-8 ...? Let's catch up!

I just finished Pillar to the Sky, which I could barely give a 3 star rating. It just wasn't very interesting yet I enjoyed his previous book, One Second After.

I'm alternating fiction and non-fiction, so I began The Real George Washington this week. I'm wrapping up The Jackrabbit Factor: Why You Can (2nd reading for me) as a read aloud with my son and trying to decide what to read next. We need something else along the lines of positive thinking, growing a business, or financial success...any recommendations?

We take a look at it and see if it is something my son would like. He loves "real life" books.

I read Tarzan of the Apes and The Return of Tarzan (you have to read them together because it's really one story, just like so many other series--Hunger Games, Divergent, Lord of the Rings). I really picked up on the man's role as protector this time, and I noticed his (Tarzan's) approach to learning and the general philosophy on man's character. Interesting stuff. I also read Divergent. Insurgent and Allegiant will have to wait a while though. I'm hoping to get through Dumbing Us Down, Gift from the Sea and Anne of Green Gables this week. (& City of Bones since my daughter borrowed it from the school library--I feel like I should take advantage of it while it's here because I doubt it's one I want to own or would check out myself.)

I have some heavy reading scheduled for Spring and Summer and so right now I getting lost in old favorites and new easy treasures. In these weeks I re-read The Last Battle, Little Women, Sense and Sensibility, Mary Poppins and In Grandma's Attic.
