Ridley House by Willa Jemhart Genre: Paranormal Romance
Audience: YA and up
For as long as she can remember, nineteen-year-old Kay has been unable to stay in one place for long. With no recollection of who she is or where she came from, plagued by nightmares she doesn’t remember upon waking, and the torturous feeling that her one true love was lost to her, she is unsure whether she is searching for or fleeing from something.
When she accepts a summer job at the Ridley House Inn, it feels like a nice change of pace. The country setting and old-fashioned feel are comfortable, homey, and even familiar.
Shortly after her arrival, she finds a wall filled with Ridley family portraits, where one picture in particular grabs her attention - a late 1930s photograph of a young woman with a face identical to her own.
Between the warnings of a scary old man telling her she should not have returned, and the magnetic pull towards a familiar and handsome young man, Kay is determined to find some answers. Is Ridley House the place she has been searching for, is it the place she has been running from, or is all of the familiarity simply contrived by her desperation to finally belong somewhere?

Boucher's World: Emergent (Boucher's World #1) by Bea Cannon Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy
Audience: YA/NA (no explicit scenes but not for young children – in spite of the cat! :-D )
The people of Boucher’s World, a planet in the Epsilon Eridani star system, have been trapped inside a mysterious Dome that has covered nearly their entire continent since shortly after the Earthlings arrived on the world a little over two millennia ago. The people all have various psychic abilities, including the ex-pets of the people from Earth. For ages, they have sought a way out, without success.
One day, a Human predult, a young woman named Jade, and her Cat partner, Tally, both employees of the leading pest company, Nuisance Apprehenders, Inc., were clearing pests from an area near the Dome wall and accidentally made a remarkable discovery: a door in the Dome wall. This was reported to the authorities, and a preliminary expedition of ten, which included the two discoverers, was dispatched outside the Dome.
This book tells of their emergence from the dome, their attempts to contact their home worlds, trouble with a human who wants to rule, and hints at a solution to a problem threatening to cause the extinction of the Elvwists.
