Novel Set in Colonial Hong Kong in the Recent Past

This is a new novel set in Colonial Hong Kong from the 50s to the 80s, that is, a period in which the Chinese culture began to take on a dollop of Western nuance. The story is told through two female characters' contrasting life journeys against a backdrop of greed-driven values and patriarchal tendencies being rebelled against.
