30 out of 40 books, 5 books ahead of schedule. Now that I'm trying to get back into shape, I hope to finish the challenge by September; and increase it.
Finished Charmed Truth and Consequences. 12/20 I am 1 book ahead (for now)I am going to start Swat No. 1 - Crossfire based on the 1970s TV series S.W.A.T. This book is the first in the series that I think was the only book actually published from the series.

Aw, thank you. Caught up now, with 1 behind looming, but that's not bad. The challenge definitely helps me keep on track with reading.
I was actually only 1 book behind until this month but there has been too much life going on this month for reading. I'm now a massive 9 books behind. I hope the reading fairies are good to me in September!
Kassandra, I'm 28 books behind. Can't get much worse than that... Might change my goal to only 75 this year...
Holly, that sucks! Will you be able to catch up when you start back at uni? Failing that, you could read some of the smaller classics or YA, those tend to fly by quickly. I'm cheering you on, you can do it!
Yes Roseanne!
I'm gonna try push, but it's unlikely. I might be able to, but I'd rather not stress about it too much, and instead read books I really want to read. Officially changed it to 75!

I don't know how it happened but I am 3 books ahead of schedule! Untile some weeks ago I was some books behind schedule. Whoa!
Went on the most intense reading binge of my reading life, and finished my challenge of 60 books. I'm feeling bold now, so I'm going for 7o now (already 10 books ahead of schedule). Hopefully I can top my 74 books from 2014.
Right now late Sept with 18/20 I am 4 books ahead. I should easily make my goal of 20 books read for the year.

Put down the Korean tech manuals and pick up some formula TV-Tie In Novels of your fave show(s), or some other quick reads. :)
Good advice CaptKirk! That's what I was doing this week and I moved up from 9 behind to only 3 behind. Hopefully I'll knock out another book tonight.
It snuck up on me and I'm done! I hope that doesn't mean I'm not supposed to read anymore this year... I'm in the middle of two mysteries ;)
I'm 63 books ahead; I was about 70 before I went on vacation in August. I've read 367 of 404 books. I'm hoping to hit 404 books by the first week of November.
127/140 and 7 ahead right now... I keep uping it because of the amount of manga I read- can read like three in a day if I don't get called every two seconds haha. I'm anticiapting next year being slow since I am starting A Song Of Ice And Fire
Iasa wrote: "CaptKirk, great advice, that's exactly what I've been doing. Been making my way through my Doctor Who novels."I need to do that sometime and follow my own advice. I have a ton of the older DW Novels I have read most of them (ages ago) but a few I haven't soooooo. My biggest problem is deciding WHICH Doctor to read about. I need to get a bunch of the newer novels as well. A Whovian's book collection is NEVER Complete.
I have increased my challenge several times but won't again. I am 50 ahead of my current challenge number of 350. Maybe next year I'll go for more than a book a day, which I seem to average, mostly of 4-500 pages. I dislike shorter books, they pass so quickly. For the same reason I have never enjoyed short stories.
Well just a few days ago finished my "text" book aka: a Chunkster Wizards, Aliens, and Starships: Physics and Math in Fantasy and Science Fiction. Started up Time Out of Mind (yes that is the French guy who wrote Planet of the Apes) it is a collection of science fiction short stories.anyway on page 35 12%
First story in the book was a complicated time-travel story pretty good.
4 books ahead of schedule (8 books of 38)That's normal I tend to go weeks without reading much in the summer so in reality i'm about on schedule.
I am reveling in the moment. THIS moment. Because in this moment I am caught up to my widget's expectations. A place I haven't been all year. Of course in a few days it will be June and my widget will have demands again. But in THIS moment, I am Master of my Reading Goal. *cheers wildly*
That is cool Renee! For me right now I am 6/15 ON TRACK.
Only about 9% read on my current book so I might slip a book or two behind as usual at the beginning of a new month.
