It has been a little over two months since the Virus broke out, and nobody really knows how or why. The breakout of this horrible epidemic has been proven to be a naturally occurring alteration in the DNA of every human being, and everyone is infected; however, not all have become biters. There are two ways to become a biter; first of all, death will awaken the Virus inside of a breather, and they will awake from the permanent slumber as a numb, brainless biter. The second way for the Virus to awaken, is to be either bitten or scratched by either a biter, or an infected. To be bitten or scratched will mean you have up to 72 hours before the Virus turns you into a biter; so beware.
