Welcome to the hunt, Aidan! Please add two new items for everyone else to collect too :)

Thank you, but I meant when I enter items.
I really should check in more often! It's hard, what with needing to write a (brief) novel about a fried chicken eating, apron-wearing person throwing a coffee cup at a rattlesnake to the soulful tootling of Kenny G's sax. :-)OK, let's see what I've got now:
1. robin Terry Pratchett's Snuff (finished 3/27/2014)
2. piano in Alan Bradley's The Dead in their Hallowed Arches (finished March 4, 2014)
3. Newspaper Wallace Stegner's Angle of Repose (finished 3 March 2014)

5. opium Pearl Buck's the Good Earth (finished 1/21/2014)
6. rattlesnake
7. Rainbow Wallace Stegner's Angle of Repose (finished 3 March 2014)

15. saxophone
16. canoe Swiss Family Robinson (in progress March 31, 2014)
17. China Pearl Buck's the Good Earth (finished 1/21/2014)
18. porcelain Peter Carey's Chemistry of Tears (March 30, 2014 completion)

Or, are you asking if you should add a book name when you put forward two new items for the group to also collect? (If that, then no :) )
MK wrote: "Aidan wrote: "Thank you, but I meant when I enter items. ..."Sorry, Aidan, I'm not clear. To clarify, are you asking if you should enter the book name when you 'collect' an item, and you cross it..."
I'm sorry... I should have been more explicit... I meant the latter.
Aidan wrote: "I'm sorry... I should have been more explicit... I meant the latter. "Ah, okay! No, you just say two items, and we add them to the list :)
MK wrote: "Aidan wrote: "I'm sorry... I should have been more explicit... I meant the latter. "Ah, okay! No, you just say two items, and we add them to the list :)"
But how do would you know which book to look for it in?
Aidan wrote: "But how do would you know which book to look for it in? "Ohhhhh, it can be any book that you read in 2014. If you look back at others' tally sheets, you will see the various scavenger hunters have collected the items in different books. As you read, you notice details in your book, and when they correspond to one of the items on one of the Scavenger Hunt BOARDS, you 'collect' it, by noting it on your own sheet. :)

But it doesn't have to be a "classic." Right?
Aidan wrote: "But it doesn't have to be a "classic." Right? ..."Nope! Just a book you read in 2014 :)

Thank you sooo much. I was lost, and now I have been found. :)
Wait a second... Am I supposed to state that I have found something from another hunter's list? Lol still lost :P
Okay, I can help. Yes, first you go to post #1 in this thread. Copy/paste it into your own post. That will be your tally sheet to work off of. As you read, you edit your post, adding in new items 'collected', and crossing them off, as you go.
If you give us two new items to collect, I will add your items to the tally sheet in post #1, and everyone who is playing, will also add them to their tally sheet. All the hunters collect all the items. Each of the hunters added two new items to the list. Some members who aren't hunting also contributed two items to the tally sheet, so the hunters would have a varied and interesting list of items to collect. :)
      Aidan wrote: "Ok here's a draft:1. Mirror
2. Tattoo"
I added your two items to the first post, Aidan. Here is the update tally sheet for BOARD TWO :):

Ahhh, I'm glad Aidan asked, and you read, too, then! If you ever aren't sure about something, or have a question, or just a comment, please don't hesitate!

I love this challenge SO much... Despite the rattlesnake. So far I have found 2 mentions of snakes and a boa constrictor.
Julia wrote: "I love this challenge SO much... Despite the rattlesnake. So far I have found 2 mentions of snakes and a boa constrictor. "
:-)) That makes me happy, that you enjoy the challenge, Julia. And, yep, some of the items can be so tricky!
Julia! Two MORE rattlesnakes, including an illustration ;-), in Vonnegut's Breakfast of Champions. Besides being awesomely funny, with some pretty sharp social commentary, it has three mentions of rattlesnakes so far. What else could a woman want? :D (hahahahah~)

23.) (Amy) a smoking pipe (tobacco, etc...)24.) (Amy) a metal pipe (lead pipe, plumbing pipe, etc...)
^^^^ found the second kind of pipe :) (Breakfast of Champions)
tatoo! Many occurrences in The Goldfinch: A Novel), which also had many instances of paintbrushes as well. I'm pretty sure it had a canary too, but I didn't mark that one, as I no longer needed it :)

Welcome, Frances! Thanks for two new items to hunt up! I'll add them to the tally sheet in the first post.
Copy/paste your own tally sheet and join in. You are also welcome to join with Board One as well. Hunters are open to joining Board One all through 2014, it's only closed to new items. New items are being added to Board Two, currently.
Happy Reading!!

Yes, they are more than okay, they're welcomed :). Thanks for to new items to hunt, Maarit. Happy reading and happy hunting! I'll copy the new items into the tally sheet in the original post.
For some reason I'm unable to edit my list right now? Hopefully it's just some sort of temporary glitch on goodreads.I'm still playing, but I haven't had any luck finding anything in my last few reads. Maybe that will change soon:-).
Kelly wrote: "For some reason I'm unable to edit my list right now? Hopefully it's just some sort of temporary glitch on goodreads.I'm still playing, but I haven't had any luck finding anything in my last few ..."
Hm. GR was wacky for me on Friday. Maybe it's rolling your way now ;-). Thread should be open and editable. I haven't found any in my last few either, tho. Well, actually, I think I may be looking for my last one, and it's one of yours Kelly! (windchimes)
It's working for me now:-).Ironically, I haven't been able to find windchimes yet either! I might have picked a different one if I had known it would be this difficult to find;-).
Does the plural form count for a find? For example, I found universities....would that count for university?

Kelly wrote: "Does the plural form count for a find? For example, I found universities....would that count for university?"I think it does :). Unless Maarit says no, singular only, then .... collect it! :D
