Ok, Tambo, where's my answer? How long do i put the pipe in the oven, and at what temperature? It's been almost ten hours! What's up with that?

Well, I had to make a Barbie cake and sleep. Grumble, grumble. You could have waited only 2 minutes, if you'd googled it yourself:

The normal method is to put it in a burning fireplace or a bed of Bar-B-Q coals for a half hour.

If you have a stove with a self-cleaning over, you can read the instructions on using the self-clean feature (important, lest you wind up with warped metal rather than a clean over!), put the pipe in the bottom of the oven, and then follow the instructions for the cleaning cycle routine.

One can also use a blow torch, or an oxy-acetyline torch, but these tend to heat the pipe unevenly and may cause cracking or breakage.
