TJ | 48 comments Just in case someone has not heard, yet. Affaire de Coeur magazine is now reviewing clean books! If you are an author who works through a publisher (even small ones - sorry no self-published) make sure you get them sent in for review for publication both on-line and in print!

I should have mentioned here (didn't think of it until now) that I'm not accepting review requests at this time.

Joyce, if you want to remove my blog (Romance, Old School) from the list, or at least add that I don't take review requests at this time, I'd appreciate that. :O)

TJ | 48 comments @ Danielle, Aw, thank you!!!

I just want to be able to go to the store and find a clean book to read when I'm in the mood like everyone else. I really hope publishers take advantage and send their books in so we can promote more clean :)

message 111: by Camille (new)

Camille (camlovesraptors) | 12 comments I have a blog, A Book A Day, http://books-camilleelise4.blogspot.com

Basically everything I review is clean fiction. A lot is Christian, but the remainder of what I review that isn't Christian is clean fiction.

I recently read and reviewed two books by Connie Shelton. She has a really cute mystery series, the Charlie Parker mystery series. I read and reviewed Honeymoons Can Be Murder, and you can read that review here: http://books-camilleelise4.blogspot.c... and Reunions Can Be Murder and you can read that review here: http://books-camilleelise4.blogspot.c....

Both these books are mystery books and in both these books Charlie Parker, the main character is a newlywed. While it is vaguely alluded to that they are a happy couple, I wouldn't even go so far as saying the books have a PG rating, they are definitely rated G. I think their relationship is darling, sweet, and sexy because the details of their lives aren't public. Neither is considered religious fiction, just simply clean romance/mysteries.

Feel free to check out my blog and I definitely recommend these two books. :)

message 112: by Thalia (new)

Thalia (thaliaanderson) My blog isn't specifically "clean romances only", but since I only read clean books and most of what I read involves romance at least in part, you'll at least know if a book is good to read or not. (:

message 124: by Kara (new)

Kara It's so great to see everyone's support here! I'm also a reviewer; my two favorite genres are Christian fiction and YA, but all my reviews consist of clean content (no profanity, nothing sexual) with a good story. So glad to see so many good blogs listed, here's mine:

I'm greatly interested in romance books, it's just challenging for me to find ones that are well written without explicit content :)

The reviews are romances in general, but she does review for content (sex and violence) which helps me in deciding what to read, and has some reviews tagged clean to start with, so you can jump straight to those:

message 134: by Donna (new)

Donna (morethanareview) | 10 comments This is such a great idea!!! I created a website because I wanted to know the content in books before I read them. Check out http://www.morethanareview.com/.

More Than a Review doesn’t stop at reviewing a book’s style or story. We give you the chance to share with fellow book lovers a warning about objectionable material, just the way you’d give a friend a heads-up.

We’ve all been there … we heard that a book had a great plot, but there’s so much vulgarity or other offensive content that it’s hard to enjoy the book. Our site’s unique review system helps prevent that.

We still bring you great reviews and let you share your opinions with fellow readers. We also let you grade a book on violence, rough language, sex, and drugs and alcohol. Choosing a book at More Than a Review means you’ll know in advance if a book might be offensive. If you’d rather not encounter graphic sex scenes, you can avoid books that contain them.

Abby Matisse (goodreadscomabbymatisse) | 16 comments Hi Everyone,

I'm new on this site and to this group. My first novel "A Deal with the Devil" was just published in late July 2012 by Little Black Dress Press.

A Deal with the Devil by Abby Matisse

It is a light romantic comedy. I purposely wrote a story where the heroine's journey and growth is illustrated not only through her relationship with the hero, but also with her brother (the source of her troubles) and her best friend. While there is implied intimacy, I purposely want to write stories that leave those details to the reader's imagination. And most of all, I want to write stories with interesting characters that people enjoy.

That said, I know many romance readers prefer the explicit. So I'm very happy to have found this group.

Also, I agree with Donna, it would be great if there was a way to do a sensuality rating on the cover so people know what they are signing up for.

Anyway, I look forward to participating in the group!

Abby

Do you ever do reviews or author interviews for clean contemporary romance? I see on your blog that you lean toward Historical. I'm a new Indie author, just released Unexpected Legacy, a contemporary romance with multiple story lines. Let me know! Thanks!

LAWonder10 | 108 comments Against the Odds by J. Adams
This was quite predictable but still a wonderful love
story of a successful black model and a rough, tough
rancher.
A tribute to many courageous couples who have crossed
the strong racial line. Our hats off to you.
This was very clean and well written. The intimate scene
after marriage was lovingly, and purely identified.
Recommended to YA and adults alike.

LAWonder10 | 108 comments Darcee Tana wrote 'Advertising for Love'. This was a story depicting the lack of understanding and miscommunication that often happens between people, especially men & women. It is also a story of woman who, after many years, is still traumatized from an act of violence against her. The story emphasizes how judgmental people often are on appearances. Someone may not dress well, wear thick glasses, may have a speech impediment or a muscular disease, but that doesn't mean
they are unintelligent nor incapable. There are a lot of good discussion points for Book Clubs and clean enough for YA to read.     Yes it was a little cheesy and ideological but things can happen in life that is fair, however, seldom does.
There were a lot of grammatical & typographical errors which was distracting but this was a proof draft so, hopefully, the many errors will be corrected.

LAWonder10 | 108 comments I just finished The Heirs of Southbridge by Jennie Hansen. It was great! The only reason I could not justify a five star rating is because the ending was a little sketchy and it left a feeling we missed a few details.
This was a wonderful Historical Fiction that was primarily a Drama with a quite a bit of action and intrigue.
It also has bittersweet moments, romance, camaraderie, family loyalty and is great for YA and Book Clubs.
