In one of the harlequin novels I read, the heroine actually tells her husband "We're pregnant." ROFL

@Fong I knew you were a romantic at heart ^_^

message 971: by IShita (new)

IShita | 1803 comments @ipshi- only Fifty Shades. I wanna see his face when he finally understands all the references and puns I've been trying to make XD

@shin- ofcourse, anytime. :)
BTW, have u read Wuthering Heights ? It's dark and all but it's beautiful. The best book I've read and my favorite. I love that book and have read it over and over again. Maybe we can Buddy Read it sometime :)

@sri- lol, yess :D Fong's suggestion of Jane Eyre isn't bad either ;)

@ipshi- lol, I knew ! Maybe now we should make him read those only.

@sou- can u imagine reading a book even ipshi squeaks at ? XD

message 972: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) Given the fact that all of you read romances.. is gagging necessary?? Ipshi??? :P :P

message 974: by IShita (new)

IShita | 1803 comments @ipshi- 'we're pregnant' that's a saying. A lot of people say that even in real life :P

@Ishita not really! though i am trying hard. :|

message 976: by Srividya (new)

@Sri Mills and boons is on another level really... All the heroines go "sigh ! I'm melting" whenever they see the heroes( who are basically jerks with hot bods and sexy smiles), it's disgusting to see women being portrayed as so vain :|

message 978: by IShita (new)

IShita | 1803 comments @sou- yea, I'll recommend some good ones ;)

@fong- not sure wether u were talking to me or ishi about the classics :P

message 979: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) We're Pregnant is the new way of saying We're having a baby!! Although i must admit that the older version is better :P :P

message 980: by Bloodyhell (new)

As I was saying earlier.. its the new crop of M&Bs that are like that.. not the really really OLD ones... those OLD ones were the reason why you have a Romance genre so popular today!! :)

message 983: by IShita (new)

IShita | 1803 comments @shin- or a tie for that matter XD

Sure, I am gonna re-read it again for the June Monthly Challenge. Join me :)
Or join Sri. Whichever u like :)

@sri- do get back to me with those recommendations. And do tell me about David Coperfield and the other one too :)

message 984: by IShita (new)

IShita | 1803 comments @fong- okay, I'll keep that in mind XD

@ipshi- lol :P

message 985: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) Fifty Shades is the most pathetic book I have ever come across.. And I have to say that it does not even fall under Erotica or BDSM... its stupid Sh*t... :(

Have you read the older Harlequins? Harlequin Romance and stuff like that even Desire in some cases.. they have good books.. Feisty heroines, great heros and a good amount of romance and story... Some are even based on classics, i mean the story part.. good ones..

message 991: by Ipshita (new)

Ipshita (miss_romanceaholic) | 4744 comments Mod
@Sri Yes I have, they are a lot better than the recent ones too.

message 992: by IShita (new)

IShita | 1803 comments @sri- will be waiting :) tell me when u start reading Anna, maybe I'll Buddy Read :)

@shin- no Tolstoy ? O.o
He's amazing.

@ipshi- oh that reminded me. Since u're such a romance fetish, u should try reading John Keats. I never read any of his books but I've heard of him and do plan to read him. He's regarded as one of the most embraced romantic novelist of all times. :)

message 993: by IShita (new)

IShita | 1803 comments @fong- me too. I love discussing classics :)

message 994: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) @Jins -- ya.. so what?? :P

@ipshi.. aren't they?? I used to love them as a young adult.. Now of course have moved on completely... but they still have Romance as their main factor and not sex... which makes them good reads :D :D

message 995: by Ipshita (new)

Ipshita (miss_romanceaholic) | 4744 comments Mod
@Ishita I've read a LOT of his poets, in fact he is my favourite poet(in tie with Shakespeare) :D

message 996: by Bloodyhell (new)

Bloodyhell Poems...I don't think I can read them, but I like listening to them. The way the words is arranged sounds beautiful.

message 997: by IShita (new)

IShita | 1803 comments @ipshi- is he that good ? Tell me his best work. I'll buy one soon.

message 998: by Srividya (new)
