It's kind of a series by British publisher Harelquin Uk....lots of fluffy, boring romance, steamy scenes...waste of time:|

IShita | 1803 comments @ishi- I said Mills And Boons. It's sooooo squeaky. U'll get sick of it at one point. Trust me XD
One of my friends' sister's into it and she told me one of the story and I couldn't even get to the end. Even with only listening. That's when I decided never to read them.

message 938: by Ishi (new)

Ishi Bhanot | 2860 comments @Ishita: just heard about them, won't ever now :P:P
Are these many books enough for poor Sou? I am suddenly feeling bad for him you know :P
Twilight Saga is also in it :D

message 939: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) the older Mills and boons were fun.. but that was the age and time.. today you have too many romance books.. and moreover the newer ones are really bad!!

message 940: by Ishi (last edited May 30, 2014 02:01AM) (new)

Ishi Bhanot | 2860 comments You also want some addition in that list Sri? :3
Any recommendations for the freaking lucky boy? :D

message 941: by IShita (new)

IShita | 1803 comments @sri- if eer u want a good romance, prefer classics. ALWAYS prefer classics. U'll have a good time. Not just the story, but the language and the style too.
I'm not so much about the romance but I'm more about language and literature. The language is what makes classics, classics. Even a dark or a comedy is fantastic if it's a classic. Literature was beautiful in those days. It's just crap these days. The writers don't even do justice to the 21st century literature let alone the 20tj century.

Hahaha :D
"Not the men" part cracked me up Shin :D

message 943: by Bloodyhell (new)

Bloodyhell Jins - you shouldn't add the "not the men" part

Now I'm thinking about male pregnancy :P:P

message 944: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) Its not like that.. the older books had romance in it. the quiet kind of romance and I am talking about books written in the 60s not recent ones. They did not have bad character development like the current ones, where as Jins pointed out it was all about getting the woman pregnant etc.. There was a story line.. there was some intimacy that was not overt..there was beauty.. but then it was that age and time.. Today, everything is like fast food and therefore pregnancy is the best way to get the girl :( :(

message 945: by Bloodyhell (new)

Bloodyhell Sri - and the language of the modern ones? Atrocious. They try to incorporate every day speech into novels :|

message 946: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) @Ishita - i have read a lot of classics and yes you are correct but if anyone wants pure romance read the old books, where it is not so deep that you often get bogged down by the serious language.. I love the old classics and definitely what you say is right but you have to agree that classics is not light reading... :)

message 947: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) Fong wrote: "Sri - and the language of the modern ones? Atrocious. They try to incorporate every day speech into novels :|"

I totally agree.. I stopped reading them long ago.. but my aunt has a lot of the really old ones.. the REALLY OLD that gave birth to the current romance genre... Harlequins, M&Bs and all that lot.. it is really fun.. Spirited people, decent language - albeit a little simple, and a lovely story line....

message 948: by [deleted user] (new)

*phew*

message 949: by IShita (new)

IShita | 1803 comments @sri- oh definitely not. I, of all people, know that. It's my favorite genre and I haven't read as many modern books as I've read classics. And that was my point exactly. Old books were beautiful. Not only just the language but the whole of it. As a book. The whole experience. I'm a sucker for old books. I'd choose the worst classic over the best modern day book.

@fong- agreed. The language today sucks. Writers and authors often think that by including the day-to-day language, it'll make the book more real or relatable to readers but in pursuit of that, they ruin the book. They left a mark on u, an effect on u with the language and all, the old books. U can read them over and over and not get sick of them. Not same with the modern books though.
