I haven't even heard of that one! Did you read it, Sandy? Is it good?

I'm going to try and finish Tamora Pierce's YA book Battle Magic today as I am almost done with it so I can get to Little Men and the other books I'm reading this month. It's a pretty good read though for my first book of hers. It should be a standalone book instead of being part of a series.

Aw, that's too bad. Wayne Johnston is such an excellent writer!

Haha. I was just looking at The Fault in Our Stars and Perks of Being a Wallflower and thinking much the same thing. Can I finish them before the end of March? Hope so!
Sandy and Renee, you both are doing great with you lists and I have the same good problem. I also keep adding onto my lists; mainly, because I see what other great selections others are making.I still hoping to finishing Reconstructing Amelia and Looking for Alaska for March.
Is anybody excited about their April Humor month? I didn't think this would be a long list, but as it turns out, it is getting quite lengthy and was hoping to finish books of other genres in April. Oh, the problems of readers.... :)
Okay. Honestly, I was not particularly excited about humor month. But as I gathered ideas, I found myself getting more into the idea. I've chosen some older writers and some contemporary. And I'm tempering the hilarity with Dostoyevsky, Hardy, and Dickens. Wouldn't want to get too darn cheerful. :p
I wasn't too thrilled about April's theme either honestly, but I thought of a few books that I had been meaning to read for awhile.
Update: Having completed 4/7 of the previously list I am now still working on:
Ship of Magic
Far from the Madding Crowd
and just got out The Shock of the Fall from the library on a whim (anyone read it? thoughts?)
I think most of these will carry on to next month too. (Also planning to start Wise Children and quite possibly The Probable Future in April)

I think it is meant to be funny, but I was neither amused nor entertained. I know that he is an acclaimed Canadian author, so I'm hoping to try some of his other books. Can you recommend one to try?"
Oh that's too bad, Sandy! I really enjoy his sense of humour in the books of his that I've read - he's all about the wordplay. You could try The Colony of Unrequited Dreams, which is halfway based on a real person and deals a lot with the history of Newfoundland.

LOL. I read; therefore I am.
Actually, I worship the goddess of audio books and have a lengthy commute. Listening makes the car time easier and MUCH more pleasant. Uh, also, I don't have TV, which I only miss occasionally. (Of course, if this were Orwell's 1984, I'd be 'vanished' first for my blasphemy!)
