Pippa - an addict?

I've re-read the final page about Pippa a few times. Theo says something along the lines of, "I can't believe I didn't see it before...the scarves, always bundled up, morphine lollipops..."; was Pippa an addict too?

I understand that they were both too damaged to be in a relationship, but I still can't decide if she used drugs to cope.

That was my impression, at the time. I don't have the book in front of me at the moment though. Considering what she went through, physically, it isn't difficult to imagine that she was.

It could actually be the reason she kept backing away from Theo. Even though I thought she truly cared for him.
