Last Oracle

Prologue is broken into two historical accounts: the first is the sacking of the temple of the oracle at Delphi by the Romans. A mysterious girl is brought into the temple just before the Romans attack, she is whisked away while all the rest are killed. Part two is just after WWII. The russians are hunting and find a Gypsy village in Romania that produces austics savants. They plan to continue some experiments found from Dr Mengele.

(view spoiler)[One of the Omega class children, Sasha, Pyotr's sister and the girl kidnapped in the beginning of the novel, tells the Russian navy to go to an island with a plague ship [from Judas Strain]. This was done as a test of the program. While a submarine was deployed, she also got very excitable about a man tangled in the nets. Russian divers found Monk and pulled him out. They brought him to the Warren on the Souther Ural Mountains of Russia, near Lake Karachy where the program started by continuing Dr Mengele's work has been playing out. (hide spoiler)]
