SOLVED. Girl's friend dies, she meets a boy (under a bridge if I remember rightly) and then he turns out to not be real, he's a ghost and just leaves her at the end.[s]

That's about all I can remember, I think the ghost boys name was Casper or Caspian. She finds out he's a ghost because her mum had to go and get her car fixed and one of the books in the waiting area was an old year book... I can't remember any more of it though...

I loved this book, the entire series, she has a spin off called the Beautiful and the Damned.
