J_BlueFlower (j_from_denmark) | 387 comments I wonder: Is there a way to sort all books by number of ratings? What are the top 10 must read books on Goodreads? I can sort my own books that way by scrolling down and selecting “num ratings”. Here is my top 5:

Harry Potter, #1 2,316,976
The Hunger Games, #1 2,256,901
Twilight, #1 2,109,241
To Kill a Mockingbird 1,746,175
The Great Gatsby 1,492,339

If there isn't a way to sort all book, maybe we can build a top 10 list from our combined “my books”

Dee (deinonychus) | 243 comments I'm sure Goodreads has a list somewhere, though I can't remember where to find it. IIRC, when I first joined Goodreads 3 years ago, I was given a list of the most popular books as suggestions for rating.

Here's a list with all books with more than 1 million ratings:

Great! Thank you very much. Interesting reading. Currently 27 books with more than 1,000,000 ratings. I have read 22 of them and 3 on my to read shelf. For me the most interesting find here is: The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. I never even heard about it!

I really cannot make up my mind about where to put The Diary of a Young Girl on the to-read list. It is not a 1001-book (because it is a diary?)

J_BlueFlower (j_from_denmark) | 387 comments On the other hand some 1001 books are almost unknown on Goodreads. The Afternoon of a Writer currently has 138 ratings!

Kayla Tocco (kaylatocco) | 107 comments I haven't read The Lovely Bones yet but I do know it was made into a movie starring Mark Wahlberg a few years ago. Haven't watched it yet.

I read that, maybe if it werent so boring:)

It makes you wonder, I read Cutter and Bone on here because it was talked about on the list and it was great I had never heard of it before. And then you get something like Gone Girl that everyone said was soooo fantastic and had such great twists....... Uh where did I miss the twists and/or great story/writing? You never know.

Kayla Tocco (kaylatocco) | 107 comments I didn't read Gone Girl but I did read Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. It was only okay and as such i decided not to try to take on Gone Girl. Aside from reading challenges that give you lists of books to complete, if I read something by an author I haven't yet read and I'm not wowed by it, I usually won't pick up another title by them.

Stephanie Flynn (stephanieflynn) I thought GOne Girl was predictable. I wasn't overly impressed.

Nicole (ncontreras) The amount of ratings it has determines how many people have read it, how popular the novel is and not whether it's any good or not. I'm not surprised by the listing.

I would say since you are near 4k books on good reads you are very well read regardless of any list:)

Kayla Tocco (kaylatocco) | 107 comments I've read 20 of them so far. More than I thought I would have. Awesome. And the others are all on my TBR, so hopefully I'll be getting to them sooner rather than later.
